Bad news from the Feline Overlord front. He didn’t make it.

The vet was able to get him rehydrated and by Wednesday his blood numbers for various toxins normally screened by the kidneys were back in range (from 8x normal down to about 1.5x normal.) However, whatever caused this, believed to be kidney stone(s) or an infection blocking kidney operation, caused enough permanent damage that his remaining kidney function was less than marginal. Which led to some further complications as well.

At which point the vet and I decided that putting him down was the best option at this point. He was warm and not in pain.

He had a very good run, and he will be missed.

At this point there are no plans for getting replacement Overlords until after the holiday travels are completed.
