Florida woman kidnaps her child because she doesn’t want him vaccinated and “brainwashed”

I know this was Florida, but this isn’t JUST a Florida problem it’s an America problem.

And I’m not sure how to fix it,

You fix it by ceasing to tolerate this insane nonsense in the public sphere.

People believe in this anti-vax and brainwashing nonsense because prominent US public figures are allowed to spout such nonsense on TV, radio, and in print completely unchallenged, 24x7.

Michelle Bachmann says that vaccines give your kids autism, and the report just smiles and nods and dutifully takes dictation instead of saying, “Hold the hell up, that’s some crazy shit you just said there. You got any proof, or are you just an insane person who has no business being in congress?”

Insert Right-Wing Radio Jockey Here spends 3 hours a day, every day of the week, going on at length about how DA LEFT!!1!!11!!1!! is ‘brainwashing’ your kids in school with ‘communism’ or ‘the homosexual agenda’, and they are not only allowed to do this but allowed to make obscene amounts of money doing it. They are allowed to lie and slander and fearmonger all day every day with absolutely no repercussions or responsibility for what happens as a result of that.

As long as we tolerate this gross abuse of the freedom of speech, these sorts of things will continue to happen.
