I do not understand: these people seem to be saying they are brave enough to stand up for their principles but, then they backtrack and delete when called out on them.

It’s simple: most of these armchair “anti-jihadis” are craven, twisted cowards who cheer on and support other craven cowards who found enough intestinal fortitude to put their twisted plots in action (such as shooting dead dozens of unarmed kids), but they don’t have the guts themselves to pull the trigger or to publicly defend those who do to the wider, non-batshit crazy public.
