It was not a gotcha question or an attempt to stir up controversy. When I hear people say they don’t want the government in the bedrooms (actually, I do; e.g. concerning marital rape), I always wonder whether they mean they don’t want discrimination based on sexual practice and preference. Because that’s what the phrase means to some people. Thank you for answering!
