Unfortunately too tightly timed to do that. Flight out on Friday is late afternoon and I pretty much have to go straight from class to the airport.

Going through the U-505 would have been a nice comparison to the couple of Balao-class I’ve been on. I expect it will be much more cramped and claustrophobic given the smaller displacement.

Not so much, given that we’re talking about a Type IX and not a Type VII. Still smaller, but a good bit bigger than most German subs. Though many German submariners favored the Type VII, due to its faster dive time (bigger subs took longer to dive).
