I think one of the main things Republicans are afraid about Obamacare is that it will free up millions of currently job locked people to pursue their dreams. This isn’t good for big business because a lot of those people dream of going into business for themselves, but couldn’t qualify for insurance on the individual market before because they have a pre-existing condition like high blood pressure. It would also obviously undermine their rhetoric if the law led to a boom in small business and innovation.

I think you’re being too generous. My take is that there are essentially two kinds of Republicans: rich, cunning ones and poor, not cunning ones.

The rich cunning ones don’t like Obamacare because it means (to some extent) rich people subsidizing poor people’s health care.

The poor, not cunning ones don’t like Obamacare because the rich cunning ones tell them not to.
