re: #82 Aye Pod

I watched “Star Trek Into Darkness” last week and thought it was awesome, as good or better than the first reboot. Not an easy thing to be true to the spirit of the original ‘Star Trek’ concept and characters, but also able to compete with the energy and spectacle of today’s sci fi/fantasy movies - JJ really seems to have the knack for this sort of thing.

Though Star Trek purists are really pissed about the altered timeline. They wanted to see “their” Captain Kirk & Co. live out all the events mentioned in the previous series as backstory. Abrams wisely scrapped that idea, so he could make a movie to appeal to people who know nothing about the ST Universe.

But I have to say the young actors playing Kirk, Spock, Uhura, McCoy, Sulu, Chekhov and Scotty do a really great job in capturing the personalities of their predecessors.
