I have to admit it irritates me when people say, “The jury has spoken” as if there’s something mystical about a jury. It’s not mystical. It’s a group of people. Sometimes they’ll be right, sometimes they’ll be wrong. It’s our justice system and it’s probably better than any alternative, but it’s not magical and it’s not always right.
