Israel’s Chief Rabbi David Lau refuses to call the site of the Pittsburgh terror attack a “synagogue” because the Rabbinate in Israel does not recognize conservative or reform Judaism as proper Judaism. Instead he calls it “a place with a clear Jewish characteristic”

As mad as I’ve been about this thing, for some reason this quote made me the angriest. The idea that some Jews are ‘not Jewish enough’ is repulsive.
