I don’t think future proofing with this refresh will work. The only 6 core 2011 processor right now is over a thousand dollars. The new ones, coming out in~6 months will be mid range, so there is no upgrade path there. Leaving you out in the cold with a motherboard not really upgradeable. For less money, you could get a 26ook processor and oc the shit out of it. (I OC mine at 5.0 Ghz with no problems at all. Gaming is being held back by the aging consoles.
