re: #890 Optimizer

Let’s get a grip.

Joe was all about a working class guy having his “The Emperor Has No Clothes” moment - having some minor success at exposing Obama as the socialist that he is. For that, he ceratinly was something of a national hero. Maybe if McCain had played that for more, things could have been different.

What Joe is spouting off here is actually a toned-down version of what religious people are taught in their churches (along with “atheists are immoral”, and all kinds of other twisted nonsense). Yeah, this is probably one of the reasons why America’s founding values are in trouble - because it’s mostly only guys like Joe who defend them, but they throw this religious crap in with the mix and end up just sounding like a nutjob.

It seems to me that these vitriolic attacks on anybody who has even one unsavory stance on an issue is counterproductive. You know, the US even had to ally with the commies in WWII. There was something more important going on that demanded it.

Obama & his allies are steadfastly working to turn the US into a third world socialist style state, hopelessly mired in debt. Countless millions of us stand to face a significantly deceased lifestyle, as well as the omnipresent degradation and oppression caused by dependancy on the Nanny State. I think that trumps the religious nonsense that some Republicans didn’t even manage to push through when they were actually in the majority.

I doubt I could name 10 prominent people who I would give unqualified support to on EVERY issue. Must I throw stones at practically everybody then?

I have to wonder why Obama would want to turn the US into a third world socialist state. I’d imagine it would be a tough job doing that while also trying to win reelection in four years. Is your contention that he doesn’t realize the vast majority of the country wouldn’t like that? Or is it your contention the country would indeed approve of a third world socialist state. I admit I don’t get out enough - can’t say I know anyone who wants this.
