I’ve mentioned this before, but my grandfather on my mom’s side had real life experience in spotting Nazis early on (i.e., he got out of Germany in time). Although he was a staunch Republican, he thought Buchanan’s campaign in 1992 was Nazi talk.

Was it Molly Ivins or Ann Richards who said of his RNC speech “it sounded better in the original German”?
