I lost all faith in capitalism when the federal government bailed out Chrysler in 1979…by all rights, that company should have been allowed to fail, but nobody was about to take the political and social responsibility for it.

The 1979 bailout only delayed the inevitable - in April 2009, Chrysler declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and it was ultimately acquired by Fiat in 2014.
