Those are my common sticking points.
[edit] missed one.

Let me start with 208:
208 * 1.08 = 224.6 (close to 222)
208
208 / 1.08 = 192.6 (not so close to 198)
Dividing again by 1.08 gives 178.3 (close to 179)

Were you really at 218 for a while as a “stable” weight, or was that while you were trying to change?
