Except that in the middle of a disaster, cash works better. Donating money to those same food banks, or, better yet, warm bodies to help them sort through donations that have been sent, makes more sense.

This isn’t rocket science. It’s basic Disaster 101 stuff, which Romney HQ fails at because they’re more interested in the photo op than in the people whose lives have been affected by the storm.

Indeed, it’s now actually going to cost the Red Cross money that would be going to fulfilling other basic needs of survivors to sort through all the food that the Romney campaign dumped on their doorstep, to distribute it to those in need, and to preserve what it can’t use immediately.

Willard could have taken the money wasted on that food and had a big cardboard check made instead.
