There’s nothing we can do that will destroy the Earth and all life on it, but we can sure fuck it up for ourselves and the majority of the biosphere.

We screw it up and it will take millions of years for it to recover.

It certainly took that long after Permian. And again, for those who missed it - volcanoes spewed the toxic crap during Permian. Coal-fired power plants are spewing the same crap NOW.
