It blows my mind trying to comprehend their sense of smell. I once read that to us, vegetable soup smells like vegetable soup. To a dog, vegetable soup smells like each vegetable, whatever meat stock was used, each individual spice, etc.

Really? I bet that is true, I’ll remember that. Another amazing thing she told me was that when a rescue dog meets at right angles to the path of the person they are tracking they can tell chich direction they were walking.
