Per the article, punitive damages were only about $706,000. Usually, when punitive damages get reduced it’s because they exceed actual damages by too high a degree (depending on the jurisdiction, usually about 9 to 1). Since punitive damages were actually less than the actual damages, the award is probably more likely to stand than be over turned.
