Lizards I am going to call it night. The plumbing gods hate me. A simple, honey, my bathroom sink needs a new faucet has now turned into a complete renovation.

While attempting to remove the offending faucet, (after shutting off the water to the whole place since the manufacture obvious felt shut off valves to the sink & toilet were not needed) wrench slip off of a highly corrode fitting, cracking the sink.

Since we have been wanting to replace it anyway, we go get a new pedestal style sink that she wanted (and shut off valves).

While removing the sink and cabinet, the toilet decided it wanted to tip over because the floor under it has rotted out due to leakage between the base and the flange.

To make things even more fun, the idiots that built this place put a reducer on the cold water line so they could put in a splitter to feed both the sink and toilet so the shutoff valve I bought will not work on the cold water line.

So after a quick jury rig to get a shut off valve on the cold water line, we were able to turn the water back on. Now I have to get the reducer off (after turning the water off again), install the shutoff valve properly, remove the toilet, repair the floor and reinstall everything.

Obligatory it’s Obama’s fault sarc.

Damn! If I knew voting for McCain/Palin 8 years ago was going to come back and bite me in the ass this hard I swear I would have voted for Obama in the first place. :-)

Damn. Doesn’t sound like the builder was up to code. Go figure.
