The idea of impeaching Obama is extraordinarily stupid, even for wingnuts. The constitution expressly provides that conviction in the Senate in an impeachment can only lead to removal from office and disqualification to hold office in the future.

The Constitution, Article II, Section 4:
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

This, it seems to me, pretty clearly indicates that you need to be “The President, Vice President …[or one of the] civil Officers of the United States” to be impeached. Nothing about being EX-President.

But hey, if they want to try to remove him from his lack of an office….
