I appreciated Hoarse, but stopped paying attention awhile ago. But I saw someone retweet this and thought it was spot-on. It reflects something I was thinking earlier:
The media is saying 199,000 jobs created in December is “disappointing.” But 1, this is a rough preliminary estimate; the October numbers were revised upward by over 100k jobs in the same report. 2, this was into the teeth of another Winter surge of Covid; last December, over 300k jobs were lost. 3, 2021 was the greatest job creation year ever, with over 6.4 million jobs created; unemployment has dropped to historically low levels. Pretty much everyone who wants a job has one.
