Granted. Make no mistake, I’m not trying to deny that it’s rather possible that they are correct. That said, since it sounds like the first woman told the second “Hey, there’s a dude masturbating in that van over there!”, I cannot really treat both witnesses as independent, as the thoughts of the first would very likely prejudice the second and could influence what she thought she saw.

I’m someone that tends to be overly cautious on things, since I’ve found myself burned on making quick assumptions more times than I’d like to think. Of course, this can also lead me to paralyzing indecision, so I have that strike against me. In this case, though, I’m assuming the police/courts can work this out. If that confirms what the witnesses think they say, then I’m all for figuratively hanging the guy (Beyond, you know, doing it because he’s a bigot).
