Dangit, the Byrd example actually proves that it’s OK for Sotomayor to say racist things and hold a high office. You can’t be whiter than a Byrd in a sheet, so it’s not special treatment for her based on race. Actually, it’s just the same equal treatment afforded all Democrats.
