They are “civilians”; Men of Military Age, who happen to somehow be in front of Israeli weapons. They are also young enough to be considered “children” or “youths”. They may also be members of Hamas;….but not the “military wing”. Otherwise the caption would have said so.

And without sarcasm, my heart does bleed for the poor S.O.B.s who wanted a paycheck, and got a funeral shawl.

My question really is about the crowd positions.
