I’ve been surprised by that co-opting as well.

Yeah some of it is pretty sickening. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with looking into ones ancestral heritage and being proud of it. The problem is when it’s taken and used as part of the whole proving we’re superior.
The worst thing I’ve come across is the use of symbols, like versions of the celtic cross which does appear to be increasing in some white nationalist circles. Makes me ill when I think of some of the jewelry I have sitting on my night table. I would hate for that symbol to get to a point where wearing those pieces would peg me as something that I am not.
