Just got back from an appointment with a “Ford Fairlaine” owner. Wife was insulted.

They told me of five companies that they have had come to their house to quote different projects, all of which they went ahead and did themselves to save money.

I asked her, “Why do you keep wasting people’s time then? You know you’re just going to do this yourself. Seriously, Ma’am. I’m curious.”

I think I may have hurt her feelings.

Did not compliment her on her lovely housecoat (read… muumuu) either.

She didn’t have any answer?
I don’t understand, other than sometime people get quotes and are surprised at the cost. It is a waste of their time too.
The only guy we didn’t do business with is the sunroom guy. The price was twice what we expected. But we told him right away we could not afford to spend 60K for a sunroom—ouch!
