I think it’s the “get ready” part. It’s not that they don’t understand it, it’s just that the phrase is way too open to interpretation. I mean, who’s to say that it doesn’t take thirty minutes, four twinkies, and a good fifteen minute stare at the TV to get ready for bed?

Marc Andreessen back in the browser biz?
Marc Andreessen, founder of Netscape, is reportedly backing a startup called RockMelt that is throwing its hat into the increasingly crowded ring of the browser wars. Little is known about RockMelt at this point aside from rumor and innuendo. The idea, supposedly, is to build a new browser from the ground up rather than just re-engineering the existing browser engine model. It sounds like a daunting undertaking which leads me to wonder- why? If RockMelt ends up being the greatest web browser ever built and is victorious in the browser market share war, what exactly does it win?

However, an influential Democratic representative said the House would only pass a health care bill in January or later, signaling continuing rifts within Obama’s party on his domestic priority for 2009.
“We’re taking some time to make sure it’s done right,” said Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania. “I don’t know that we’ll get something done before January, and even then we may not get it done. We’re going to do it right when it’s finally done.”

It would be more productive if he addressed two of the big flaws with HTML (rather than just creating another browser.)
HTML, which is the principal way of presenting and using the internet these days, is a product of the English language. Other languages with different methods of writing are left out. Furthermore, what is most ironic is that even though the internet, the web, and associated tools all came out of scientific and engineering communities there is still no standard way of having a browser handle mathematics, which to me is a great flaw.
