Wish I had a dollar for every "the SOTU speech Obama ought to give" schtick I've seen or heard in the punditsphere...

Here's a point of reference from 2006, from gambling911.com . If W's over/under was 45, I will bet you an upding with over/under at 60. I say Obama goes >60
0-15 Standing Ovations at 5/1 odds
16-30 Standing Ovations at 4/1 odds
31-40 Standing Ovations at 3/1 odds
41-50 Standing Ovations at 5/2 odds
51-60 Standing Ovations at 3/1 odds
61-70 Standing Ovations at 6/1 odds
70 or more Standing Ovations at 8/1 odds

The least self control seems to be on the hard left for now. If there's an outburst, it will be a moonbat in the audience, sez me, and I'm takin bets. The Republicans (so say the pundits on CNN 5 minutes ago) have given strict instructions to be civil, and their party control - on stuff they care about - is pretty good.

Me too. The good news is that the GOP is much more organized than it was last year. We should be able to competently react to what Obama proposes tonight.

Reacting is one thing. Responding is another. Our previous president was reactive, as were his policies. This one is striving to be responsive, though with our short attention span (as a nation), people don't seem to understand the difference. Even on NPR today they said that President Obama needed to deal with "Americans disappointed in not seeing all of the change they expected"...No, you can't have your pony yet.
