Weird, when I first followed the link from twitter, I saw something called "Video", clicked, and got Will Ferrell yelling at his landlord played by a toddler. Needless to say, I was confused. Then when I clicked on the comments, the intended video loaded. Strange.

Anyway, I would totally watch that movie, just for the scene of Darwin owning that dodo.

I just had the exact same thing. From the LGF homepage, the video was a button labelled "embedded video", I clicked it and it went to a full-window video player of Will Farrel yelling at a toddler landlord. I didn't get how that was "Darwin" and went to the comments to point it out. But when I did, the embedded video button was actually an embedded video, with Darwin in it.

The player does seem to load quite well though.

Creationism advocates outside the US are busy pushing their agenda, too:

Orange Order voices Ulster Museum exhibition concerns

The Orange Order has weighed into the debate about a historical exhibition at the Ulster Museum in Belfast and revealed it had a meeting last week with officials to discuss its complaint.

[Northern Ireland] Assembly Culture, Arts and Leisure Minister Nelson McCausland caused a storm after accusing the National Museums Northern Ireland of not paying enough attention to Ulster-Scots heritage and the Orange Order in its exhibits. In a letter to Museum trustees, the DUP minister also urged them to give more prominence to alternative views such as creationism.

Nelson McCausland's blog entry is here:

The third issue was the consideration of alternative views on the origin of the universe and the origin of life.

Well, there you go, a Northern Ireland Minister calling for creationism in the museums....

Oh, and how did we miss this one from yesterday?

Creationist Museum near Lubbock says it has 'real' chupacabra

[...]

Not to be outdone, the owner of a religious museum near Lubbock claims that he has a stuffed chupacabra.

The Independent Creationist Association in Crosbyton is advertising: "See the real chupacabra. ... Finally one has been caught."

Curator Joe Taylor says he has always believed that man walked the earth with dinosaurs.

Now, he believes that both walked with the chupacabra.

"Sure, I believe that," he said by phone from Crosbyton.

At his Mount Blanco Fossil Museum, he said, he spends a lot of time looking at animal bones.
"This isn't the mythical chupacabra," he acknowledged, adding seriously: "There's two kinds."

"We can't study that one," he said.

"But until we find him, we can study this one."

The animal on display through June looks like a female coyote or dog -- La Chupacabras.

Medical Update: I saw my doctor today. He says my long-running cough is likely the result of a "walking pneumonia" (i.e. A minor lung infection). I got an antibiotic that should knock it out. The bad news is that I might not get that short-term job I got offered, due to the training I missed. I'll know tomorrow. Thankfully, no bridges have been burned, so even if I can't get it right away, I'll still be a frontrunner for any expansions of the program.

Interesting fact about the "impeachable offense" charge against Obama for reportable offering a job to Sestak and influencing a election, Reagan actually did it first.

"Sen. S.I. Hayakawa on Wednesday spurned a Reagan administration suggestion that if he drops out of the crowded Republican Senate primary race in California, President Reagan would find him a job.
"I'm not interested," said the 75-year-old Hayakawa. I do not want to be an ambassador, and I do not want an administration post."

If you're not watching Rachel, watch the repeat in an hour. She's covering the 1979 Ixtap(sp?) well explosion in the Gulf of Mexico and how it parallels today's well disaster...everything, down to the 'loop current', underwater plumes of oil, the "sombrero" (aka Top Hat), a 'junk shot' and injecting mud and concrete (aka Top Kill), etc...and none of it worked. It took nine months to get two relief wells in to drop pressure enough to cap the well (10,000 to 30,000 barrels a day gushing then, just like now).

The only difference? That well was in 210 feet of water, not 5,000.
