American Family Association: Hitler Was Gay, That’s Why He Was So Evil

Wingnuts • Views: 5,331

It’s been a week overflowing with right wing xeno- and homo-phobia, and here’s an exceptional example posted at YouTube a few days ago, as the American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer expounds on his theory that Hitler and the Nazis were homosexuals (not the “effeminate” kind, but the special Third Reich kind apparently), and this was the factor that allowed them to be so savage and brutal. Yep, really.

[Link: en.wikipedia.org...]

While at the same time they ignore the fact that Hitler had Röhm executed, and then reduced the SA's power. This was done for two reasons:

1: To reassure the Army that it would remain the primary ground combat arm of Germany and that radical changes to its leadership would not happen.

2. To remove those Hitler felt disloyal and advance the SS, which Hitler trusted fully.

The advancement of the SS was ultimately to undermine the Army, which had made a devil's bargain supporting Hitler.

He was, essentially, the finger in the dike. That so much hatred could be confounded by one man certainly is a testament to him. That they didn't go away speaks to the facade of what the right was when he lived.

There were more "legal" immigrants in 1910 because (a) prior to 1926 laws the law ALLOWED more legal immigrants, at least from Europe; and (b) no one looked too closely at whether anyone had broken laws in the process of leaving their place of origin. (Which even then was a no no for "legal" immigrants, if you were going to get technical.) The often ridiculous laws of parts of Europe, for example Tsarist Russia which then included most of Poland, forbad emigration without various permissions which were next to impossible to obtain, so many people left without.

Our turn of the century immigrant ancestors (mine for sure!) were very often "legal" not because they waited 15 years and filled out all the right paperwork, but because the laws were a lot looser then.

Convenient.

More convenient than breaking up a good marriage over some hanky-panky while the husband is travelling, I suppose.

There are some equivalents in Italian medical texts from the Renaissance. You don't want to have a crisis you can avoid.

OT: BTW I guess I need to apologize for being so damn cranky last night, I was stressed out, still not a legitimate reason for taking it out on the people here, sorry. :(

Mom had surgery on her right shoulder first thing this morning, for a compressed nerve and reduced blood flow to her right arm. I am already a "full time home healthcare aide" for Dad, the idea of Mom being laid up too has had me kinda freaked out.

Anyway the surgery apparently went very well according to the doctor but we will not know for at least 48 hours (and as long as three weeks) if she regains any more function in her right arm. Repeated cortisone shots didn't help, so relieving it by surgery was the only possible solution.

If your a praying sort please include Moms rapid recovery in your missives, if not at least wish me luck. I am now the only driver along with doing all the cooking cleaning, dish washing, laundry, shopping, and pretty much everything else.

The measure, which passed on a 28-10 vote as an amendment to the budget, would bar the state from doing business with any company found to break federal laws barring illegal immigrant hiring. It would also toughen penalties for creating or using fake identification documents, and explicitly deny in-state college tuition for illegal immigrants.

heh, I actually got in a 3 hour long bar conversation with a nice couple (at the Spints Alehouse in SE, for you Portlanders) who had just moved to Portland from Arizona, and boy, they had a lot to say about racism in Arizona. Talked the politics of white retirees selling their homes in more expensive parts of the country, moving to Arizona where land is plentiful and the weather agrees with them, and creating an increasingly hostile political and nativist environment on all fronts for the latinos (legal and illegal) living there.

Just an anecdote! This made me think of it.

Of course the wingnutosphere is totally misrepresenting history here.

Of course, there was a large homoerotic component to Nazism. Just look at any fetish site.

But Hitler was a prunish prude in all things that didn't serve to magnify his power. Hell, he was a vegetarian. Are the wingnuts going to go after vegans next?

From my posts on a previous thread:

A large number of the leaders and the rank-and-file members of the SA were militant gays, including Erich Röhm, the top guy.

Wiki:

Another hindrance was the more or less open homosexuality of Röhm and other SA leaders such as his deputy Edmund Heines. [4][5] In 1931, the Münchener Post, a Social Democratic newspaper, obtained and published Röhm's letters to a friend in which Röhm discussed his sexual affairs with men. This resulted in a national scandal.

But this was not a mark in their favor with Hitler. In fact, it was one of the main reasons for the Night of the Long Knives.

Hitler used the SA for their street muscle, until he achieved absolute power and the various scandals surrounding them became a liability. Then he ruthlessly slaughtered them and replaced them with the SS, who were even more muscly and kept their sexual proclivities to themselves.

There is a horrific, bloody scene depicting the Night of the Long Knives in Visconti's highly disturbing movie "The Damned".

Wrong.

The military-sexual fetish was very strong with these ones, from the beginning.

But of course, military fetishism is not limited to gay people. Why, I know a few posters here who might qualify. Including myself, if I listen to my libtard gun-hatin' friends.

heh, I actually got in a 3 hour long bar conversation with a nice couple (at the Spints Alehouse in SE, for you Portlanders) who had just moved to Portland from Arizona, and boy, they had a lot to say about racism in Arizona.

When I was about to move to New Mexico from Everett, WA, I told the young lady making my sandwich where I was moving to. She said, "Oh, I used to live there." I asked how she liked it. she said, "I didn't. Too many Mexicans." Her Korean-American boss and I had to make sure we didn't accidentally trade jaws as we retrieved them from the floor.

It's not that the AFA and the FRC are trying to stop the bill. They're taking advantage of the story arc. They're in its wake, like the little fishies that follow a whale, trying to grab some of that outraged-bigot donation cheddar when the bill is big news and the issue is on everyone's minds.

Libmobiles.

I know ONE person with a Pius personally. And she's a nurse in her 60's who bought a Gen1 Prius and will probably drive it until it's no more.

Libmobile in Portland is usually a battered Volvo 240 wagon, a base Golf GL, or a Subaru Outback with 300,000 miles on it, slathered in bumper stickers. Or, if you're REALLY broke, it's whatever shitbox you can get for $300 a Twymans.

The Prius, you gotta have money for those things. But I can pick up a Volvo wagon for less than I paid for my laptop. And it's a cooler car.

John Finn, the last, living WW II Medal of Honor winner died today. Here's what he did to earn it at Pearl Harbor:

In 2009 Finn explained one of the first things he did was take control of a machine gun from his squadron's painter. "I said, 'Alex, let me take that gun'...knew that I had more experience firing a machine gun than a painter."

Finn then found a movable platform used for gunnery training, attached the .50 caliber machine gun, and pushed the platform into an open area, from which he had a clear view of the attacking aircraft. He fired on the Japanese planes for the next two hours, even after being seriously wounded, until the attack had ended. In total, he received 21 distinct wounds, including a bullet through the foot and an injury which caused him to lose feeling in his left arm.

"I got that gun and I started shooting at Jap planes," Finn said in a 2009 interview. "I was out there shooting the Jap planes and just every so often I was a target for some," he said, "in some cases, I could see [the Japanese pilots'] faces."

Despite wounds, he returned to the hangars later that day, after receiving medical treatment, and helped arm the surviving American planes.

For these actions, Finn was formally presented with the Medal of Honor on September 14, 1942, by Admiral Chester Nimitz. The ceremony occurred in Pearl Harbor on board the USS Enterprise (CV-6).

I think everyone knows that on both the far right and the far left we can find many examples of hate speech and bad craziness. Which side's wackos are worse would actually be an interesting discussion. I think that harping on only the bigotry on the far right, and holding it up as an example of what the right wing is, is giving a skewed picture of what conservatives stand for. I would be curious if anyone knows any poll numbers as to what percentage of conservatives, or even what percentage of the religious right agrees with these kind of statements. I know this won't be a popular comment, but I am uneasy with using this kind of stuff to tar so large a group.

The problem, Effy, is that the main voices on the Right (the McCains, the McConnells, the Boehners, the Grahams, etc.) are afraid to disagree with the crazy fucks at the AFA or FRC because their followers are almost exclusively Republicans...so yes, they're complicit in this kind of idiocy.

The main voices on the right would be afraid to disagree with expelling all homosexuals from America and saying the Hitler was evil because he was gay (recent examples from here)? Are you really sure? Unless I am not understanding you correctly. I know they are not in favor of legalizing same-sex marriage or having only gay people in the military, but that is hardly the same. 251 Sol Berdinowitz  Fri, May 28, 2010 12:41:54am

The logic we are seeing is that homosexuals are an ab(d)omination unto the Lord, they are by nature degenerate perverts, which makes them all the more prone to any other acts of depravity we can think of.

This is also the basis of the arguments against repealin DADT.

The notion of a gay who is quiet, clean, responsible, law-abiding, non-promiscuous and otherwise outwardly "normal" is not part of their thinking.

252 S'latch  Fri, May 28, 2010 10:25:45am
