O’Donnell Wouldn’t Lie to the Nazis

Wingnuts • Views: 4,186

Appearing on the “Politically Incorrect” show in 1998, anti-wanking GOP creationist Christine O’Donnell was asked by Eddie Izzard, “What if someone comes to you in the middle of the Second World War and says, ‘do you have any Jewish people in your house?’ and you do have them. That would be a lie. That would be disrespectful to Hitler.”

O’Donnell’s reply: “I believe if I were in that situation, God would provide a way to do the right thing righteously. I believe that! … You never have to practice deception. God always provides a way out.”

Youtube Video

Since O’Donnell is absolutely opposed to lying under any circumstances, someone should ask her how often she masturbates.

Cake or Death Christine…cake or death…..

And this video is full of fun considering the fact the woman is in fact a liar.

5 allegro  Thu, Sep 16, 2010 9:41:13am

I would trust someone who claims “I never lie” to pretty much lie all the time about everything. Just like when someone says “I’m not a racist” is about to start spewing racist beliefs. And the guys spending the most energy crying about the “gay agenda” are getting blowjobs from rent boys. And…

He IS providing a way to do the right thing righteously, you vapid twit. That’s why those people were housing the Jews in WW2 in the first place.

It’s totally acceptable to lie in that situation. Really.

11 SteveMcG  Thu, Sep 16, 2010 9:44:25am

God sure took care of those Jews. I guess O’Donnell would just throw her hands up and say “Hey, it wasn’t my fault!” Actually, I wonder if O’Donnell really believes the Nazis committed murder. Or how about this: If lying to protect Jews is unthinkable, how about those who fought back against the terrorists on flight 93. Heaven forbid the passengers may have killed one before they crashed. Or maybe it crashed first, saving the passengers from committing a mortal sin. What a relief/

I love Eddie Izzard. I saw him a few months ago here in Boston. Brilliant comedian. And how fun that he exposed her for her sanctimonious and disingenuous self.

Go Eddie!

But you know, he was wearing jeans and a sports coat when I saw him. No more dresses and lipstick. WTF? He even made a comment about it but I can’t remember why he’s changed his look.

A man is stuck in quicksand - and a rabbi walks past him and offers to help, the man says “no, god will save me…..”…..
The rabbi was followed by a Jesuit priest - who was again rebuffed, the Jesuit followed by a Shamen, followed by a Buddhist monk and they followed by a Bishop….. all of who’s helo was declined.

When the man was sucked under and makes his way to the pearly gates he asks God “why did you not save me?….was i not a righteous man who lived well?”…….

God said -” i sent you a Rabbi, a Shamen, a Buddhist a Jesuit and a Bishop - sheeesh, what the heck else were you waiting for?”

19 Stormageddon, Dark Lord of All  Thu, Sep 16, 2010 9:47:40am

Hmmm, I wonder if she would have lied to the Allied investigators about send people to their deaths.

Sometimes, there’s really nothing to say except. That’s either one of the dumbest, most dishonest answers I’ve ever read in a while, or she has an inhuman and frightening adherence to principle.

I’m not knocking principle in general, but at some point pragmatism and reality do play a role in keeping those principles from becoming pathos.

And that pathos becomes more frightening when you have that person in a position of power and feels it is their duty and right to force us to adhere to that same principle of pathos.

26 gehazi  Thu, Sep 16, 2010 9:50:26am

Growing up in conservative christian circles, I heard this all the time actually. It seems to derive from a story in Corrie ten Boom’s The Hiding Place, where her sister answers a Nazi question about where the jews are by replying “under the table,” which they were.

Nevermind that she answered in a clearly sarcastic way (deception) or that her sister and the rest of the family lied all the time to protect those innocents, the idea that it’s okay to lie (even about hiding jews) and God will protect you is prevalent in the evangelical subculture and it derives from that story.

Right? I was thinking of that last night when I first read about her saying she wouldn’t lie to the Nazis because God would provide a way out.

She’s trying too hard to project a moral facade, and it just comes across vapid, self-centered, and self-righteous. No one is THAT perfect, or that good. This song immediately comes to mind for her:

Which species of bird are referenced in Leviticus is up for great debate. It all depends on which branch of Judaism and Christianity you belong to.

Yes, that’s it exactly.

So this is what you mean:

The right to let the wealthy and powerful fuck the little guy all they want.
The right to not follow civil rights laws.
The right to force invasive procedures on women who want abortions.
The right to put welfare recipients in prison camps (that is a suggestion from the bestiality porn guy now running as the GOP candidate for NY gov’s idea).
The right to tell gay people that they can live in our state but don’t expect the same rights as the rest of us.
I could go on…

Yes, that’s it exactly.

And the people (and the states for that matter), have elected legislators, presidents, and indirectly justices who have agreed that for a better functioning country that some of those rights should be given to the Federal government.

This is not 1787 anymore. Things change.

Yes Christine. God would provide. He would have one of the Jews sneeze or blurt out “OY” so you could sleep better knowing you didn’t have to lie. After they are drug away to be shot or worse, you can thank your God he didn’t put you in a compromising position.
Let this woman talk and talk and talk. It’s the best medicine.

As long as you’re willin to talk, I’ll listen, but I’ve never heard anybody tell me where we’ve betrayed the “founding principles”

Which principles have we strayed from in particular that we need to go back to?

Limited gov’t. Read the Constitution.

Uhuh. I have read it. Including, you know, all the amendments, acknowledgements by people over time that maybe, just maybe, the holy founders didn’t get everything exactly right.

I know it’s a terrible concept, but there it is.

i apologise for personalising the snark, as you didn’t actually insult me but rather actually tried to denegrate the entire assembled populous - yourself excepted.

How do you know this ISN’T limited government. The world’s a lot more complex than it was 225 years ago.

You obviously have not been paying attention the last year or so.
As a woman I’d really like to keep what rights I have protected by the Federal government and not left to the whims of my fellow “man” and state. I have a feeling that most Gays and Blacks and Latinos would too.

Overthrowing a lawful government by force because you don’t like it anymore… and then instituting a whole new form of government… isn’t particularly conservative.

But maybe that’s just me.

119 HappyWarrior  Thu, Sep 16, 2010 1:01:52pm

He should have asked her about Jews who pretended to be Gentilles during the war. They were “lying” too. She’s nuts as this and countless other evidence shows. I can’t believe that this is the candidate of a major party. I know the Republicans have gone nuts but O’Donnell is incredibly buts.

120 Petero1818  Thu, Sep 16, 2010 1:54:09pm

Unfortunately this “god will provide…” nonsense has become completely standard when faced with explaining indefensible positions. The scary thing is that for a growing number of Americans that would be a totally acceptable response to a crisis in the white house. Remember Clinton’s middle of the night phone call ad against Obama? Now imagine that one against Palin or COD. They would simply say that god would provide the answer for what should be done. And the sheep will say Amen.

123 Taunka  Sun, Sep 19, 2010 10:48:54pm

Ask her about how she spends her campaign donations then remind her about this video. Talk about the “gotcha” press, these right wingers can’t be allowed to have it both ways. Oh I forgot, thats immoral too.

124 Taunka  Sun, Sep 19, 2010 11:11:41pm

I’d like to see her and the whole bunch of conservative gasbags take an old fashioned Timothy Leary acid test and then interview them afterwards.
