Tonight on Fox: 9/11 Truther Hosts for Glenn Beck

Wingnuts • Views: 24,945

That’s right, standing in once again tonight for Glenn Beck on Fox News is 9/11 Truther Andrew Napolitano.

UPDATE at 1/3/11 2:06:50 pm:

Andrew Breitbart does his usual thing: Twitter / @AndrewBreitbart:

@Lizardoid So Napolitano as 9/11 truther as fill in talk show host is bad. But Van Jones as 9/11 truther as presidential czar is good?

To recap this right wing idiocy from 2009 to which Breitbart refers, Van Jones signed a petition years ago calling for more investigations into 9/11, that was subsequently recycled by a Truther group and used to make it look as if important people supported their conspiracy theories. Jim “Dim” Hoft discovered the petition online and the rest is history.

But several of the famous names on the list came out and said that they did not agree, and in fact never even signed it. And Van Jones issued this statement when he resigned over this silliness:

“…the petition that was circulated today, I do not agree with this statement and it certainly does not reflect my views now or ever.”

Judge Andrew Napolitano, on the other hand, is on video saying:

“9-11 couldn’t possibly have been done the way the government told us.”

Which one sounds more like a 9/11 Truther to you?

They should rename that small town in New Mexico:

Truther Consequences.

Except there seem to be no consequences.

What was the problem with Van Jones again? I forget.

The Van Jones incident was really disgusting in my opinion. Here's what I wrote at the time:

[Link: littlegreenfootballs.com...]

Now that I've actually researched Van Jones and his real opinions for myself, it's clear to me that the country lost a very good man for the "green jobs" position when he was forced to resign. And the one who started all this was ... Jim "Dim" Hoft. He's the one who dug up the misleading petition on a Truther website and caused a huge stink.

Now they have a Fox News host who OPENLY says he's a Truther, and nobody even blinks.

However, by this degrees-of-separation logic, Eliot Spitzer (aka ' Client #9) co-hosting a nightly CNN hour = CNN endorsing adultery.

Because conservatism has become rudderless. The average Tea partier/Fox News viewer has no principles or direction. They'll freak out over left wing truthers but have no problem that Glenn Beck's mentor is a truther.
They''l freak out about Park 51 but ignore other mosques in the area. They do what they're told without question.
There are true believers among the Paulians and Religious right, They may be despicable but at least they have a belief system to adhere too. Most conservatives today are simply rudderless lemmings.

As soon as Breitbart attacked me on Twitter, 5 or 6 idiots chimed in.

Meanwhile, the next big outrage you'll be seeing at the anti-LGF sites is that I banned Israellycool (aka AussieDave) because his blog promotes the English Defense League.

Yep, it's absolutely true. I would have thought it would be very clear by now that I will not have anything to do with people who promote groups like the EDL, but apparently Dave is whining about it on Twitter.

The noetic sciences stuff is pretty woo-woo, but he wasn't hired for a science position.

i agree. my quarrel is more that he's a "human rights and environmental leader" (Amazon's words) who was hired for a jobs position.

in any case, he's no Napolitano with regard to trutherism.

Hellboy is an influential comic by mike Mignola, that eventually became a movie series. The important thing is that it's all about an adorable teenaged hulking demon who fights ressurrected occult-obsessed nazis and clockwork SS androids and rasputin and basically yeah :D

So Napolitano as 9/11 truther as fill in talk show host is bad. But Van Jones as 9/11 truther as presidential czar is good?

Brietbart is such a dummy that he doesn't understand that comment cuts both ways. Truthers are truthers. Van Jones is not a truther but Napolitano is. Nobody on the right is outraged that Fox Employs at least two Truthers. No other network employs any.

I do get tired of people saying this or that is impossible, when what they mean by that is they've thought it over casually for a few minutes, and they don't see how.

There are things that are logically impossible, but that's just in the realm of abstract logic. There are things that are effectively impossible according to our current understanding of physics, but "our current understanding" is a far cry from the understanding of a casual observer without any real education in the subject.

And there are things that don't make sense at first sight...a black swan? Impossible!

The word is also a discussion-stopper. If you say you don't like the government's explanation, that's different. But when you say it's "impossible", you're saying that it's a transparent fraud and that everybody who gives it some thought must realize that it can no more have happened that way, than that somebody figured out how to write 10 as the sum of one even number and one odd number.

I'm not sure. That's probably part of it but I suspect they see the European fascists as helping them mainstream pro-Israel sentiment in Europe. If Israel as a society decides to take this path they are fucked. Looks like the DOW is responding well to the Obama Tax Cuts:

Stocks start 2011 with a big lift

NEW YORK — Stocks started 2011 with a big lift on Monday, and that could be a promising sign for the rest of the year.

Investors call it the "January barometer." According to the Stock Trader's Almanac, a gain in the Standard and Poor's 500 stock index over the first five days of January has led to annual gains nearly 90% of the time.

"All of the forecasts come out of Wall Street, and those expectations for the year give January a nice indicative effect of what the year will look like," said Jeffery Hirsch, the editor of the Stock Trader's Almanac.

Signs that the economy is improving pushed stock indexes higher on the first trading day of the year. Manufacturing activity and construction spending both rose more than analysts were predicting...

I really hope some strong forces emerge in Israel to pull them back from these unsettling alliances. The Latma (sp?) defense of the Serbian ethnic cleansing was shocking; now it seems like a precursor of worse things.

They have a very free press; hopefully some good reporting will occur and the populace will reject these alliances with extremist elements.

look what I found...

Rattlesnake Gumbo with Sassafrass Scented Rice from Chef de Cuisine James Phillips of Juniper Restaurant, Fairmont Hotel: This came across as a pretty straight forward file gumbo bearing some small pieces of very tender white rattlesnake meat along with bits of a reddish sausage, most likely andouille. My past experience with rattlesnake had led me to expect that it would be tough and perhaps laden with cartilage, but the rattlesnake in this gumbo was tender as tofu.

@Lizardoid So Napolitano as 9/11 truther as fill in talk show host is bad. But Van Jones as 9/11 truther as presidential czar is good?

No, they are both bad. The towers went down because:

1. aircraft were flown into them.

2. the impact and fire broke the floor diaphragm connections to the exterior columns for 2 + adjacent floors.

3. This loss of connection increased the slenderness ratio of the exterior columns by a factor of 3 at least, and the exterior columns then buckled out of the way of their loads.

4. The stories above the buckling columns then accelerated downwards and crushed everything below them.

Signed, Ojoe, architect.

I think he was hired clearly on the basis of the book -- he's obviously thought a lot about the issues around "green jobs," and he has some pretty persuasive solutions.

Van Jones? He knows virtually nothing of the technical side of green energy. The point of green energy is not to provide jobs to this group or that, but to provide energy without putting CO2 into the atmosphere. Ideally, doing it while generating as few jobs as possible.

There are things that need doing that will take a lot of work. Even done as efficiently as possible, that'll be a lot of jobs. Done inefficiently, it'll mean that the work simply doesn't get done.

The right man for that job is somebody who knows energy; a former director of a wind power R&D facility, say. Or solar, or nuclear. But knows something of the industry he'll be revamping.

Ok, well, I'm coming up to help with the garden & share in the food if you're right. You can do the same, if I'm right. Deal?

re: #228 Killgore Trout

A few of them like Ron Paul don't hide the fact that they want to destroy the country to rebuild it from scratch but most of them know the consequences would be bad for the country and bad for themselves personally.

heh...the same can be said for BO and crew, because I did, many times...wait til gas goes though the roof again...and BO just put forth another deep water drilling moratorium, even tho the last was struck down...and what has he done to streamline the cert process for nuclear power like he promised?...and what of his orders to the EPA to regulate emissions since cap and trade has bombed...all coincidence?

That's a little misleading , because to get the actual vote picture you need to understand the myriad of other issues that were attached to that bill. There were at least nine.
[Link: www.govtrack.us...]

9 vote. There were only 4 amendments.

re: #234 Dreggas

The Republicans slowly crawled away from it over the years.

For it before they were against it.

it depends on the situation at any given time...it can be raised or lowered

I see the link you followed, but I wasn't talking about amendments to the identical bill.... there were other related pieces of legislation attached. It wasn't just an issue of ' should we raise the debt limit '.
However, not that the GOP didn't go on a hog-wild spending spree the last time they were in power. Somehow I'm pretty sure they've learned that they'll be out in another two if they try a repeat.

if you weaken our ability to produce energy in an already weakened economy, I'd say you probably have the bull by the horns....

which is so ironic....triple the debt and claim it's all GBs fault

I wouldn't write it the same way, but everything in the post is factual as far as I know. Jones did have a background of radical leftism (since renounced), and he does appear to believe in some pretty hokey New Age woo.

The point I've been making is that this story is very incomplete. It's like the Breitbart tape of Shirley Sherrod, it didn't tell the whole story.

Here's what he did at the noetic sciences thing. Is there anything quacky in there? He basically just did talks. He wasn't bending spoons or levitating or anything silly like that link you gave implied.

Its nice to see someone besides me being hopelessly optimistic on this board.

The modern day GOP is (to me) like Sienfield, no hugs, no lessons.

Hey, you don't need to convince me. I've been saying the US lost a good man for the job when he was forced to resign.

I just have an aversion to woo, and the Institute for Noetic Sciences is a world center of woo.

I do not like woo either.

I think they might. I really do.

"Might" is a broad word. I give it less than a 1 percent probability. As everyone's saying, it would be insane. Politically insane to boot. The Republican Party isn't wall to wall O'Donnell.

Any association whatsoever with an "institute for noetic sciences" is the LW equivalent of creationism. It's a totally, absolutely off the wall rejection of reason and reality.

Once I heard that Jindal promoted, however indirectly and with cat's paws, creation science in the LA classroom, I was done with him. Same for Jones and "noetic science".

Same, for that matter, with "Scientology". Quackery and fraud and superstition. These things are unseemly in the national leadership.

re: #160 Obdicut

I really hope some strong forces emerge in Israel to pull them back from these unsettling alliances. The Latma (sp?) defense of the Serbian ethnic cleansing was shocking; now it seems like a precursor of worse things.

They have a very free press; hopefully some good reporting will occur and the populace will reject these alliances with extremist elements.

We have a very free press too. Fat lot of good it has done us.

The hard right has far too much influence in Israel, as it does here. And it has for some time.
