Glenn Greenwald: America Is “The Most Brutal, Sprawling Prison State on Earth”
In a conversation about NSA leaker Edward Snowden’s decision to flee to China, Glenn Greenwald can’t resist approvingly retweeting one of the craziest over-the-top statements I’ve seen yet:
If you want to have a society in which whistleblowers are prosecuted more aggressively than ever, don’t blame them when they leave.

Yep - seems to be theory RT @ChadAustinSD If you don’t submit to the most brutal, sprawling prison state on earth you are a coward.

That’s apparently Greenwald’s excuse for why Snowden fled to China, and his argument against people who call him a coward: the United States is so evil, Snowden had no other choice.
