Donald Trump Tries to Deny “Schlong” Means What Everyone Knows It Means

Such a blatant liar
Politics • Views: 56,023

One of the essential facts about Donald Trump is that he’s basically a coward. He runs his mouth off and insults everyone who crosses him, but when people react with revulsion to his crude utterances he backs down and tries to deny he said what everyone heard him say.

He did this with Megyn Kelly, when people were disgusted by his comment that “she had blood coming out of her… wherever,” and tried to claim he was talking about her nose. Right. Go ahead, pull my other leg.

And now tonight, he’s trying to deny that when he said Hillary Clinton got “schlonged” by Barack Obama in 2008 he was using a very common slang term (originally from Yiddish) referring to a penis.

It’s even in the Merriam-Webster dictionary, with just one definition.

Even the right wing audience at Breitbart “News” had absolutely no doubt he was using it as a crude synonym for “getting screwed.” In fact, they loved it. But now watch them do an abrupt about-face and start agreeing with Trump that it means “beating up.”

“I don’t know what you mean by ‘glory,’ ” Alice said.
Humpty Dumpty smiled contemptuously. “Of course you don’t—till I tell you. I meant ‘there’s a nice knock-down argument for you!’ ”
“But ‘glory’ doesn’t mean ‘a nice knock-down argument’,” Alice objected.
“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.”
“The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.”
“The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master—that’s all.”

What I think is responsible for those rare occurrences is the confusion between shlong and shlogn (from German schlagen - to beat)

Would anyone use “schlonged” to describe a male rival being beaten by another male? I think the term has a suggestion of sexual assault too. It’s a sexist attack, and that’s three sexist attacks on Hillary in a week (I’m probably missing a few).

- No strength or stamina
- Takes too long in the bathroom
- Beaten by male rival.

So it’s obviously a calculated strategy. I don’t expect the GOP to get rid of this turd.

That is the perfect encapsulation of most conservative use of fake outrage words: racist, PC, anti-Christian. The words mean only what is convenient for their current argument.

As a bully, one of the things that comes naturally to Trump is emasculating his opponent. Or, in this case, suggesting that a woman can’t dare to stand up to a manly man like himself. It’s as if, having pissed off most of the minority demographics the GOP needed to make inroads with, he’s decided to start pissing off the married women who vote Republican.

It’s like I’ve been saying for the longest time, whoever ultimately wins the GOP nomination is doomed in the general election. Trump has been feeding the base on a steady diet of red meat for months. It’s hate for illegals, hate for Muslims, hate for minorities, hate for the press, hate, hate, hate, and so on.

Even if Rubio should win the nomination, as many are saying the GOP will need if they want any chance to win next November, he’s going to be stuck feeding the base that red meat. Any backtracking, any apologies, any mealy-mouthed arguments are gonna get him crucified by the wingnuts.

This is what voting for the “sane” Republicans gets you, a party where the lunatics run the asylum and the definition of “sanity” twisted until it looks like a pretzel.

THE MORON WAR ON CHRISTMAS

First a Walmart clerk wished me ‘Happy Holidays’ in a somewhat rote manner, and I did not speak out—
Because she was just a wage drone doing her job.

Then I overheard some people talking about Kwanzaa, and I did not speak out—
Because who gives a fuck about Kwanzaa.

Then someone said Happy Hanukkah to me but I only nodded and said it back to them—
Even though I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and I said “So, how was your Christmas? Mine kinda sucked.”

I keep waiting for Trump to play the Birther card against Cruz. Trump brought it up last Spring before he got into the race, but hasn’t mentioned it recently while Cruz was sucking up to him. But now Cruz is becoming an existential (Fav GOP word) threat to Trump’s campaign. Trump’s bullying persona is built on him being a winner, however its starting to look likely that Cruz will beat Trump, possibly by a large margin, in Iowa. Cruz has money and organization, and the support of veteran evangelical voters who dutifully trudge out every four years to vote for the most insane religious fanatic in the race, where Cruz has smartly placed himself. Trump has beaten every prediction that his improbable campaign would start to collapse so far, but even he might wonder if the air will go out of his campaign if Cruz demonstrates that Trump isn’t the winner he portrays himself as. So look for Trump to go birther on Cruz soon. The only reason he might not, I think, is if he has already tested it with focus groups, and it just doesn’t play with GOP voters, who were eager to jump on any reason to oppose a President they loathe, but won’t care so much when the issue is aimed at one of their own.

Yes, former members of Blondie showed up uninvited and Debbie Harry was not at all diplomatic about keeping them from participating.

Bun E. Carlos was essentially kicked out of Cheap Trick in 2010, but fought to keep his place in their business structure. There was a legal process underway that was just settled in August (in which Carlos basically got what he wanted). I was thrilled to learn that the bad feelings have dissipated to the point where the classic lineup can appear and play today at least this one more time.

Never heard it either, from any of my Yiddish speaking relatives. But even if it’s a thing, so what? It’s still crass, and obnoxious.

“You got fucked” is a pretty common term too, but I don’t think it belongs on the campaign trail. Of course, I don’t think Trump belongs on the campaign trail either, but nobody fucking asked me.

NO IT’S NOT YOU STUPID SHMUCK

On further review, Trump is right on this. “I got schlonged” is a commonplace NY way of saying: “I lost big time,” w/out genital reference.

Hey Greenfield, I’ve lived in New York for nearly 40 years. Never heard that term, not once.

Let the Reader Beware A new linguistic form called ”haigravation” is rearing its head in Washington. It is the tendency of the new Secretary of State to change the state of parts of speech - from noun to adverb, from noun to verb. The new top man at Foggy Bottom, Gen. Alexander Haig, studded his testimony at confirmation hearings with locutions like ”I’ll have to caveat my response, Senator,” and ”I’ll caveat that … .”

re: #43 Big Beautiful Door

This is what I’ve been expecting. I fully expect Trump to play the birther card right before the Iowa caucuses!

As most of you are aware, last evening was the winter solstice. The shortest day of the year. Today the days start getting a little bit longer. Up here it’s just a few seconds a day right now, but in a month or two the days will gain daylight at 3-4 minutes per day. When June 20th arrives we will have gained an additional 11 hours and 54 minutes.

So what better way to celebrate the increase in daylight than have this day also be your birthday!!

Yes, today is my birthday.

Of course everyone asks “How old are you?” If you must know, I originated the phrase “Get off my lawn!!!” For the mathematically inclined, today is my 26,664th day since birth. You can figure it out from there.

Having a birthday so close to Christmas really sucked when I was a kid. Most of my relatives would give me gifts “for Christmas and your birthday”. Big time rip-off for a kid.

Hillary really wasn’t beaten badly in 2008 by the way. That primary contest was very close and ran right down to the wire. Strictly speaking she actually won the popular vote, though barely, and only if you include the states violating the rules to jump ahead in the schedule. Still, Trump’s version of history isn’t just vulgar, it’s revisionist.

Yep, hence the talk about a brokered convention and rumors of a “unity ticket,” with Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton argued based upon who it was thought had the better chance of winning the presidency, so as to prevent the party from splintering.

If there’s one thing conservatives are consistent about it’s the fact that they take a ‘damned if you do damned if you don’t’ attitude to everything. If *anything* doesn’t go their way they always have a way to deflect blame on anybody but themselves. These people behave like children.

Our politics is suffering because of “reality” TV. The more outrageous the character, the more attention the show gets, and the more popular the character becomes. The radio shock-jock was moved into the camera eye, and now the concept has seeped into politics.

I’d say Trump is the first Reality TV Candidate, but Palin might have him beaten.

Scarlett is beautiful. Personally, I’ve always had a weakness for dark haired girls so even though they downplay her looks a little for Shameless, I find Emmy Rossum gorgeous. She likewise posed for Esquire, don’t know if the photos would be appropriate here since they’re uh a little more than PG-13.

Back in the day it was all about Sexy. Now it’s all about Sextoy. Is it coarser? Yes. Miley embraces her sexuality and lays it out in the open.

But don’t tell me that if you were 22 today and had the opportunity to tap Miley that you wouldn’t. We were, and in many ways still are, victims of our testosterone.
