To be fair, Lewis did say this in the context of the Congressional Black Caucus’s endorsement of Clinton. On the other hand, why mention Sanders at all, other than to say they prefer Hillary?
Maybe I’m reading too much into the Iowa-NH results. It becomes too easy to interpret everything as reaction to recent events.

It’s funny the shade thrown towards millennials, like they raised themselves or something and aren’t the product of the world they were born into.
They need to stop trying to puff up his ego and aim more towards how he’s actively harming the cause he’s trying to support. Stop talking bravery and start talking futility. He’s already in a unstable emotional state, a *skilled* negotiator could take him to the point where he realizes even suicide won’t be a statement of anything, just and end to his journey. The bad part is that everyone gets to view it.
One of the reasons I am not listening to any feeds, watching any video. I’m only observing this through the reactions of the lizards.
If this drives anyone nuts…turn it all off.
re: #347 makeitstop
And it boils down to a fear of prison rape, from the sound of it.
Yeah, weeks (?) ago David was ranting about not going to prison because “weird stuff” happens there. He said it over and over and always just said “weird stuff”———couldn’t even bring himself to say what it was he feared. Like a lot of conservatives I suspect he thinks about gay sex an awful lot….
This is what you get after 400 years of religious extremism being programmed into an unstable young person’s mind.
Now Fry says he’s pointing a gun at his head.

re: #359 HappyWarrior
Well speaking as a 28 year old. I do feel a lot of frustration myself. I’ve got a BA and even a paralegal certificate. Now that said I express my frustrations in uh very different ways than young Fry here.
There’s healthy ways to be frustrated. Threatening suicide is not one of them. Believe me, I’ve been there and done that.
re: #370 ObserverArt
I’m also not going to be a spectator to this nonsense. Second hand via the comments here is as close as I want to get.

Same here.

I’ve been on that end before too. Of course it was nothing like this. Don’t get me wrong no sympathy for Fry but I have more anger for the Bundys, Fiore, etc who take advantage of people who are frustrated,
I’m starting to get the really bad feeling he’s going to kill himself.
re: #375 EPR-radar

Yeah, I haven’t listened to a second of the stream. Reading second-hand accounts is spooky enough.
re: #325 ObserverArt
When running for Senate the first time, Hillary came out in favor of a constitutional amendment to ban flag burning.
I hope he doesn’t kill himself. I think he needs help and time away from right wing propaganda.
re: #344 nines09
And how would this be different than every other thing he has done in his addled sheltered life?
He probably thought they were the Black Panthers…
re: #378 Charles Johnson
I’m starting to get the really bad feeling he’s going to kill himself.
Me, too.
re: #378 Charles Johnson

If he does, some of the responsibility for that should fall on his fellow travelers and enablers, but it won’t. It never does.
re: #381 HappyWarrior

It worked for people like me. Just gotta get out from under the bubble and find a friend you can rely on to help.
Okay, I may be the coldest mofo who ever lived, but honestly at this point, I’m thinking the best thing is to cut off his connection to everyone but the FBI and tell him, “You want to kill yourself, fine. Go ahead. But you’re not going to have an audience, and you’re not going to take anyone else with you, and we’re not going to do it for you. Make a good choice.”
re: #384 EPR-radar

Exactly.
Stop citing Christ to Fry. He’s not a Christian. Doesn’t believe he was resurrected. Different languages.

These nitwits don’t understand that David isn’t actually a Christian.

re: #358 klys (maker of Silmarils)
I’m pretty sure that some therapy and maybe medication would be required before he’s at the point where that’s possible.
I agree.
re: #381 HappyWarrior
Getting help in prison? I suppose its not impossible.

I think they do need to cut the other lines at this point.

Right and he obviously needs to spend sometime behind bars but I don’t want him dead or anything like that. He’s still fairly young. Maybe he can learn that Bundy, Fiore, and the others don’t give a shit about him.
re: #387 Blind Frog Belly White
I’d be fine with them cutting his connection to everyone other than the FBI and then getting someone actually trained in dealing with suicidal people talking to him.

Is David Fry even religious? It doesn’t seem that way.
Stop trying to give this guy courage. It takes more courage to martyr yourself than it does to give up.
re: #391 Amory Blaine
Getting help in prison? I suppose its not impossible.
I don’t see why not. I don’t know anything about his educational background or anything like that but I think he’d get help alone by being isolated from right wign propaganda.
re: #396 Sionainn
Is David Fry even religious? It doesn’t seem that way.
I don’t think so.
Of course, that’s how a lot of the other nutjobs involved here think, and the idea that someone isn’t religious just doesn’t process.
re: #343 20Hz
He is still a 27-year-old. He is a man and he needs to take responsibility for what he has done and is doing, that is if he doesn’t die first.
A rational person might. This guy is obviously not being rational. I wasn’t joking about being 12 years old. He may have the body of a 27 year old, but not the mind.
You have heard of mental disabilities. An undeveloped brain is one of them. Mental capacity can be judged. I bet David would meet some of the tests.
Cleveland tried to force Tamir Rice’s family to pay for his ambulance
On Thursday, Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson apologized for the “mistake,” saying it should never have happened.
He added that the city would review the bill to see if any city employees were negligent in sending it before considering how they would be disciplined, if at all.
The claim came less than two months after the two Cleveland Police officers involved in Rice’s shooting death were cleared of any charges in connection with the boy’s death.
HOw is your day so far?
re: #395 FormerDirtDart
Cliven is so old that he’ll probably die before the trial is completed.
re: #396 Sionainn

He is religious, he is a Messianic “Jew.”

That’s a combination of charges from last year, plus a few new ones. I’d say that would also inform on the superseding indictments that are likely to head the way of the rest of the Bundy militia nuts.

I won’t listen to someone kill themselves.
It’s very sad that David Fry’s mind was so poisoned by the right-wing hate machine that he thinks this is his only option.
re: #408 Amory Blaine
He’s a recruit for the Arian brotherhood.
That’s true too. Prison could radicalize him even more.
re: #402 makeitstop
Yelling that he took his weed.
Give him his weed, if he will lay down his gun. I dont want this young man to die. He is sick.
re: #405 20Hz
He is religious, he is a Messianic Jew.
So, not the same as mainstream Christians or mainstream Jewish folks.
There are to damn many people talking AT him
A proper facility could help him. His history is non-violent, as far as I know. He’d just end up talking politics with Slingblade.

re: #394 klys (maker of Silmarils)
I’d be fine with them cutting his connection to everyone other than the FBI and then getting someone actually trained in dealing with suicidal people talking to him.
I’m beginning to lose patience with even that idea. Tamir Rice, John Crawford and others weren’t give 40 goddam days and a worldwide audience to try and get them to surrender, and they hadn’t done a god damned thing.
I’ve been steadfastly ignoring the world since I got back from Paradise.
Everytime I try to pay attention, I am disgusted. So I crawl back into my fiction hole. Been rewatching the BBC Mysteries.
Did you know they did a pre-quel to Inspector Morse, called Endeavor?
The young actor has very blue eyes.
Nice backstory.

He and the others may end up in AdSeg for being in an armed uprising.

He’s all over the lawn, TBH. Sticking up for Muslims earlier, complaining that Ohio didn’t legalize weed, now saying he doesn’t even care about the Patriot movement.
But yeah. He’s been soaking in RW propaganda for a long time, and believes every bit of it in his heart.
Oh, there was a mention of Australians taking over Journalism in England in one of the Morse episodes …made me smile.

Perhaps. I am not a Dr.. But from the evidence I have seen thus far and my layman opinion , I agree with you. Unfortunately the law is not going to see him as his “mental” age, but his chronological age.
As far as Fry not being “Christian”, other Christian groups usually accept Messianic Judaism as a form of Christianity.

No, you had the total opposite. You had people trying to find fault with them in anything they ever did. Michael Brown’s stepfather having a criminal record was used against Michael. Could go on and on.

Happy, said it before. I am 61, had a great successful career all the way up to October 2012 and then the company I worked for shut down. I am college educated, have tons of experience and I am in the same boat.
I know too damn many people my age and less in similar situations.
I was not sold this outcome when I was 18.
I am here too.
And by the way…the big job I thought I had…fell through.
And there was some bad credit card fraud to go with it. It is going to cost me. I got stuck in the middle of a good scam. Even the security people at the banks said the guys were good and they hadn’t seen a scam quite like what happened to me.
This has all gone down over the last three days. I’m real bummed about it, but here I am.
Life sucks sometimes. It’s sucking pretty good right now.
(Shit…now I am bummed…be back in a bit)

In federal court, the rules are different.

Putin: “What? Armed gangsters have taken over a federal park facility? They make demands?”
Lackey: “Da, that is correct, comrade, er, Mr. President.”
Putin: “Do they have hostages?”
Lackey: “No, com-, Mr. President.”
Putin: “Foreign media with them?”
Lackey: “No, Mr. President.”
Putin: “Are the facilities valuable?”
Lackey: “No, Mr. President. Just some out-buildings and a small house.”
Putin: “Good, call Long Range Aviation. They will know what to do.”
Lackey: “Yes, excellent call, sir. It shouldn’t take more than 5 or 6 of their TU-160s to get the job done.”
Difference being that Putin controls the mass media in his country and he could ensure that the story was told from his point of view only.
