Lyrics by Magda Giannikou & Sofia Ribeiro

English Translation

Bed of seaweed made of silk and satin
In this feast of waters it rains like this, it rains like this

Stars are playing a game on an endless sky
In this feast of fire it rains like this, it rains like this

Raw waves of the sea, what do you know of rising?
My bare feet on this ground, what do you know of my
Heart that falls, confused

Heart, a raindrop
Full of pain, it rains illusion

Moon, queen of the waters, made of silk and satin
Moon, on my path, it rains like this, it rains like this

Who gave dawn this endless sky,
I don’t know who it was, I know nothing
It rains like this, it rains like this

Raw waves of the sea, what do you know of rising?
My bare feet on this ground, what do you know of my
Heart that falls, confused

Heart, a raindrop
Full of pain, it rains illusion

Heart that soars, crystalline
Heart, a queen
Full of light, it rains emotion
That’s how it rains in my heart.

Someone saying ‘fuck’ never hurt anything except sensibilities. Taking away or impeding someone’s access to health care by fiat explicitly hurts people directly.

So fuck that noise about being ‘concerned’ a politician used ‘Fuck’ or ‘Shit’ in their language. If they’re using obscene insults such as ‘bitch’ or the ever famous n-word, THAT’S obscene, yes. But if you’re telling me that you dismiss someone’s concern over the abomination of a bill down the pipe because they used ‘fuck’ in an official capacity, then fuck off. Your callousness is more obscene than the fact that I used ‘fuck’ a grand total of 6 times in this post.

Aren’t some also using the argument that the Wednesday shooting was triggered by harsh language that thousands or even millions of people will die prematurely if the new TrumpDontCare plan is implemented?

I call them ‘aristocrats and barbarians’.

The people running the GOP are aristocrats, defined by Jefferson as, “Those who fear and distrust the people, and wish to draw all powers from them into the hands of the higher classes.”

The ‘base’ are barbarians, defined by H. Beam Piper as, “People who don’t understand civilization and wouldn’t like it if they did.”

It’s why, when I am truly pissed, I use the Queen’s English. I am precise and multisyllabic.

Best of all, 90% of the time the person whose ass I’m reaming has no idea what I’m talking about. My favourite insult is ‘microcephalic australopithecene’. They know they’ve been insulted but don’t know how.

We’ve brought up Pierce here before on occasion, and I do think it’s worth learning more about the US during that time, as relevance to knowing how nations change.

Anyway, the podcast MY HISTORY CAN BEAT UP YOUR POLITICS did an hour review of Pierce that I recommend to you:

We discuss:

I really hope all you “down southers” are enjoying your good weather. Up here in the SE Alaska rain-forest it’s been well, very wet. Actually very, very wet, and cold. So far, we’ve had about 2 days where we got up to 70*. Mostly the highs have been in the 50’s and low 60’s. Right now it’s 48*. The rain, almost every day, has varied from drizzle to down-pours.

Summer solstice is next week and right now, with about 18 hours of daylight, the cloud cover is making it dark instead of twilight during the 6 “nighttime” hours.

The growing season is totally out of whack. My lilacs and rhododendrons finally bloomed last week. Usually they’re in full blossom by mid May. My wife’s garden is doing nothing. The ground is too cold. My apple tree had many blossoms but I think it may have been too cold for the bees to pollinate the fruit. Same with the strawberries.

The rain does make the lawn grow very fast. Need to mow every 5-6 days. Of course, wet grass is almost impossible to mow. So, the grass just gets taller.

Well, now I feel better after this “bitching” post.

(Anyone have an extra couch down there? Must have 12 hours of sunshine with a max of 72*.)

Nice little feel good Obama sports story.
ESPN - Jim Harbaugh to ask Obamas to serve as honorary captains

Michigan Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh got to spend some time with former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama earlier this week. He hopes to be getting more face time with them this fall.

Harbaugh said he will ask the Obamas to serve as honorary captains for a Wolverines home game this season.

“We’re making those asks. Official asks,” Harbaugh told reporters Saturday. “In the process of making an official ask. There’s been, ‘Hey, we’d like you to do it,’ and now we’re doing official asks.”

Harbaugh said he spent “39 wonderful minutes” with the former president Wednesday during a visit to Washington, D.C.

- - Cut - -

“It was incredible,” Jim Harbaugh said. “… Saw Mrs. Obama as well. He was great. He was really relaxed, working on a lot of things. … Shared a lot of insights.”

“One of the benefits of being a mature well-educated woman is that you’re not afraid of expletives. And you have no fear to put a fool in his place. That’s the power of language and experience. You can learn a lot from Shakespeare.”

I will use “fuck” or its various forms as a noun, adjective, verb, adverb, or in any other manner as I see fit. I will do the same with the word “shit.” Can I use other, less nafarious words? Sure, but fuck that shit.

He wouldn’t go under an immediate background check, but Mueller’s investigation would quickly spread to him.

Ay, caramba! It’s a hundred degrees here at the Conspiracy Compound, but it looks like Lubbock has finally gone to the hell to which so many visitors and former residents have figuratively consigned it. It is 110 degrees there. weather.com

Suppose to bump 100’ here in Austin today. Just came into work and the truck said 97. They must be burning the fields in Mexico. There’s lots of smoke in the air.

re: #82 wrenchwench

What the climate change denialists refuse to accept, among other things, is that a global average surface temp rise of 2C means far larger changes in-land.

The central portion of the Pacific will not rise that much, but the poles will rise much much greater. Meanwhile, on the continents, because the air holds more water vapor, the energy content per unit volume will increase significantly, which will raise the night-time lows considerably.

Many feedbacks will come into play.

The bottom line is Lubbock will become unlivable with a 4C rise globally, and even at only 2C will be absurdly horrible for the entire summer.

What I suspect many Americans don’t realize, and of which those 40% who think the Earth is only 6000 years old are in flat denial, is that in previous warmer climates the nature of life on the continents were starkly different.

During the hot periods of the Eocene and Miocene, and during the hottest periods of Mesozoic (which ranged from quite hot to climates similar to today), continental interiors would have included vast deserts. We know this because the geological records shows great periods of sand and dust, for those areas that were arid.

The vast coal deposits in North America happened because the continent at that time straddled the equator, and extensive rainfall could give vast plant growth.

As the continent moved north of the Hadley cell there were arid regions, like today. So visions of the tropical past are often wrong. It was often a desert past.

Anyway, it looks like we are buying the farm wrt climate change, so there’s not much we can do to stop the Trump approach.

Bill Maher’s Bizarre Lovefest with Breitbart’s Editor-in-Chief on ‘Real Time’ (The Daily Beast)

I watched the program. The problem with interviewing anyone from this background is that the interviewer has to have the material on hand to refute them at the moment. They are great at denying they ever said something — they deliberately lie. You need to have on hand a copy of exactly what they said and when they said it, otherwise they will boldly claim you are the one who is mistaken or lying. Trump is a master of this and his disciples fall in line.

This needs to be sent to Bill Maher who appears not to know that an Obama lookalike played the role of Julius Ceasar without any outcry from the left.

They also usually think my name is a backhanded spit on the Tsar’s grave.

Not Ivan? That would be terrible. (But Mikhail would be goodenough.)

You’re welcome to stay off twitter if you so decide.

re: #178 Anymouse

Sounds like a good reason to stay off Twitter. The owners of the company seem to have a problem with anti-Semitism that they don’t want to address.

Not sure there is any content issue at all they want to address above lip service. Sure maybe point to Milo et al. But about the thousands of abusive posters on there that simply don’t have a national or internet profile of note?

All they care about is making money. If anti-Semitism will make them money, they will sell that. Hence people like David Duke and Richard Spencer get to keep their accounts and Twitter does nothing.

Considering the Dumpster fire of anti-Semites on Twitter, it wouldn’t surprise me if some of their own people are fellow travellers at this point.

They know. And don’t care ‘cause they will think somehow that was different. There should be a word for those deliberately deaf to obvious hypocrisy. “Selfmyopic” or something.

Yep. After all it’s the clicks and eyeballs that count, so he is sponsoring twitter like everyone else.

There’s funny stuff on Twitter. There’s interesting stuff on Twitter. Okay though, I can stay away from those I suppose as well.

Up the thread Nyet calls for people to dogpile on Twitter’s reporting system to ban yet another anti-Semite, which they might do if the person doesn’t make them enough money.

Let me know when David Duke and Richard Spencer are banned. Let me know when Twitter actually gives a damn about anti-Semitism.

Ay, caramba! It’s a hundred degrees here at the Conspiracy Compound, but it looks like Lubbock has finally gone to the hell to which so many visitors and former residents have figuratively consigned it. It is 110 degrees there. weather.com

You know a place is a veritable weather shit-hole when the best the weather service can do is say “Currently, 103 degrees. Feels like: 103 degrees.” That’s like saying Wagner’s operas aren’t as bad as they sound.

Put your money where your mouth is, stop visiting the site and posting tweets here. I dare you.

All your talk about how Twitter is so so horrible rings pretty fucking hollow, dude.

The only time I ever go to Twitter at all is when I am logged in here. Shouldn’t be too hard to not bring funny or interesting tweets to this one Website. (I can’t avoid the ones others post here though.)

You post twitter all the time while portraying yourself as a non-twitter renegade.

It’s hypocritical & I’ve called you on it like 5 times now.

Don’t bitch about what you use. It’s quite simple.
