Newly Revealed Memo Shows Trump Officials Trying to Rig Elections for Whites

Politics • Views: 31,582

You may have heard that the corrupt Trump crime family is pushing to get a citizenship question added to the 2020 census. They say it’s because they want to “better enforce the Voting Rights Act.”

This, of course, is yet another scurrilous lie: Census Citizenship Question: Revealed: Memo Shows Trump Officials Trying to Rig Elections for Whites.

A secret trove of documents was revealed Thursday showing that the Trump administration added a citizenship question to the 2020 census as part of a right-wing plan to change how voting districts are drawn in the United States—a plan hatched to benefit “non-Hispanic whites.”

This is worse than anyone thought. This is white supremacy.

[…]

The man at the center of the revelation is one of those shadowy political operatives who has shaped American politics without most people knowing his name: Thomas Hofeller, who died last summer at age 75.

Hofeller was one of the key players in the wildly successful 2010 REDMAP initiative. In response to President Obama’s victory and the demographic changes in America, REDMAP used big data and dark money to flip otherwise obscure state-level races. That, in turn, flipped several state legislatures, which promptly redrew dozens of electoral maps to favor whites over non-whites, Republicans over Democrats.

The further consequences of the Roberts Court gutting the VRA.

The further consequences of GOP dominated states getting the green light from Trumpworld and the right wing extremists to deprive millions of their rights, and to use all means at their disposal to do so.

It’s the further consequences of too many people thinking that elections don’t matter, or that both parties are the same.

One party is consistently trying to deprive others of their rights, and one party is trying to protect your rights.

One party puts party above nation. That’s the GOP.

This is about sabotaging functioning government and ensuring a permanent majority control despite having a minority of actual voters.

It goes to redistricting and federal funding formulas.

It goes to allocation of funds.

It goes to the heart of how government works.

If we lose Roe V wade or another justice dies, court packing may become inevitable. Democrats are not just going to be told to be patient for 40 years with back alley abortions and women sent to prison in Alabama, and especially not after McConnell stealing the seat.

We’ll just slide farther and farther back as the rest of the world advances. In 50 years this will be a weird third world patchwork of feudal jurisdictions, with enclaves of civilization in places like California and Austin. European tourists will visit to gawk at the savages in their native habitat in places like Alabama or take in the barbarous decadence of regional evangelical capitals like Lubbock. They will have to be careful though, something visitors to North Korea now.

My reading is a bit different. In the end, he doesn’t dispute the WSJ article, which states that the name was draped on Friday, but the drape was removed on Saturday before Trump got there, and suggests it was some Navy higher-ups who put the kibosh on it.

I mean, he literally says that they don’t disagree. I think he was trying to point out that the Navy ended up NOT complying with the WH request.

Sorry, the story seem to have dried up. I had a source but it is no longer there. They were comments from a medical examiner, with a specific reference. I looked for another source online and couldn’t find one. Having seen some of the terrible pictures the crazies show, and knowing what victims of accident and war look like, I am convinced this is true but I know my opinion is useless. I will keep looking. I am wondering if medical examiners might be more reluctant to speak out than they were a few years ago.

It’s not the first time that category of people have misrepresented images. They are fully capable of actually manufacturing evidence. How do I know? They’re so convinced that “the others” are guilty of many things, so they lack the mental stop to manufacture evidence to ensure conviction.

Like, I wouldn’t put it past people in this mindset scavenging the corpse of a pregnant woman for a fetus to use in their scare propaganda to get images that pass experts as legit.

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says U.S. President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner has gifted him an official State Department map, updated to incorporate the long-disputed Golan Heights as part of Israel.

In a bid to play down the political chaos and focus public attention on his foreign policy prowess - in particular his close friendship with Trump - Netanyahu whipped out Kushner’s map, on which President Trump had scribbled, “Nice.”

They have been caught using not just photos of miscarried fetuses but the actual fetuses themselves. One ghoul, the Reverand Robert Schenk, was arrested for bringing one to a demonstration and claiming that it had been aborted. Same link as above.

A July 1992 LIFE magazine article, The Great Divide, reported that Reverend Robert Schenk, member of anti-choice coalition Operation rescue, attended a demonstration outside an abortion clinic in Buffalo, NY, with “Baby Tia”, a 7-inch, gray-tinted and formaldehyde-soaked dead fetus. In the escalating madness of the crowd, the fetus was dropped onto the sneaker-trodden street. Authorities arrested Schenk and confiscated the fetus, which was taken to a coroner, only to be identified as an approximately 20-week-old stillborn.

“The city has not provided any permits, it has not approved of the construction that has gone up already,” city spokesperson Peter Ibardo told The Texas Tribune on Tuesday. “They built the structure without authority or any building permits from the city.”

Former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach and former Trump adviser Steve Bannon are listed on the group’s website as part of the leadership team. Air Force veteran Brian Kolfage started the organization.

Kobach said construction for the project cost between $6 and $8 million and began late Friday. The group had raised more than $20 million as of Monday.

Did find something. This one calls out fakery and mis-labeling in the anti-abortion photos, though not specifically the use of autopsy or accident victim photos. Needless to say, the pictures are horrible.
The Truth About Anti-abortion Pictures of Alleged Aborted Fetuses

A lot of these pictures have been around since the 1970s. I remember seeing them then. I’d also note that the treatment of blood and tissue has changed in the last 40 years due to the need to protect against potential blood borne pathogens. Basically, blood and tissue are packaged up. That’s why the forced birthers have to rely on these pics from the 1970s.

Just as true now as then (even if the quote was never said verbatim by Legasov himself).

They have been caught using not just photos of miscarried fetuses but the actual fetuses themselves. One ghoul, the Reverand Robert Schenk, was arrested for bringing one to a demonstration and claiming that it had been aborted. Same link as above.

Ironically, there is an opinion piece by Rob Schenck in today’s NYTimes.

I Was an Anti-Abortion Crusader. Now I Support Roe v. Wade.
Overturning the Supreme Court’s 1973 decision would not be “pro-life.” It would be destructive of life

nytimes.com

Schenck still believes abortion is a tragedy, but he’s smart enough to realize that banning abortion is not going to end abortion. He also calls out the hypocrites in the Evangelical movement who don’t want to get to the underlying economic reasons why some women get abortions.

I’d just add, based on my encounters with creepy pro-lifers, that they don’t want to support poor families at all, because it might cost THEM money. I think Schenck realizes this as well.

Although I don’t completely object to calling them the Trump tax cuts BUT they were the GOP tax cuts. Ryan and McConnell designed them; I doubt if Trump had much if any input into the legislation. It’s important to tarnish the entire party with this huge tax cut for the rich. They have to be branded as the irresponsible party that lavishes wealth on the wealthy without addressing the actual needs of our nation.

Manafort wanted Pence. The question is: Why? I don’t think that was part of Mueller’s mandate, which seems very limited. His failure to request Trump’s tax records really concerns me about the scope of his investigation. OTOH, Mueller seems to be very literal and would not stray at all from the most narrow interpretation of the Rosenstein request.

Manafort was big in Ukraine. A big part of the putdown of the freedom movement was repressing (to the point of murdering) LGBTQ people. I think it’s part of how Putin works. Picking Pence is right in line with that.

That analysis was not part of Mueller’s mandate.

Now for something completely pleasant: NPR reviews Good Omens:

‘Good Omens’ Serves Up A Cozy, Strangely Heartwarming Apocalypse
May 30, 2019

Most of the cleverest, funniest bits in Amazon’s six-episode series Good Omens, which debuts on May 31, come straight from the 1990 novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, as you might expect.

Most — but, happily, not all.

The plot, about a demon named Crowley (David Tennant), who originally tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden, and an angel named Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), whose original gig was guarding the Garden’s East Gate with a flaming sword, is wholly intact: The two eternal beings’ extended tenure on Earth has engendered in them a fondness for the place and its people, so when they are instructed that the apocalypse has arrived, they conspire to stop it.

The elaborate mix-up involving an order of satanic nuns that results in the baby Antichrist getting mislaid — that’s also straight from the book.

Ditto the notion that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have been biding their time on Earth until they get their marching orders — er, riding orders. The detail that in the meantime one of the four — Pestilence — retired once penicillin was discovered, only to be replaced in the lineup by Pollution (Lourdes Faberes) seems to be one of the book’s, and the show’s, particularly Gaiman-esque touches.

In a more fundamental sense, however, the thing that sets Good Omens — book and show — apart from the fire hose of grim apocalyptic fare we’re getting doused with on a daily basis is its thorough, inveterate, consummate Britishness.

(I was going to add “unapologetic,” there, but “unapologetically British” feels like a contradiction in terms, surely.)

The rest is here: npr.org

If is pretty big. There’s no way to realistically get both. The chain of succession is designed in case of something that kills them both off. There’s no to convict both at the same time.

Au contraire… confirming a new VP after the current one becomes President requires a majority vote of both Houses, so the office could be held vacant while the second trial of impeachment is held. I see no signs of anyone planning to impeach Pence, though.

He could resign, as Agnew did, as part of a bargain. Instead, the GOP has decided they are no better than Trump satellites.
