There is no time limit regarding the nomination process, nor does it give the Speaker the power to assume the office if the president drags his feet on nominating a replacement.
The Speaker would be on very dangerous ground if she used that line of reasoning.

The U.S. Education Department rejected 99 percent of applicants in the first 12 months of a revamped student loan forgiveness program, according to government watchdog report released Thursday. Ironically, the program had been expanded last year to help students who were already struggling to qualify for loan forgiveness.
The report by the Government Accountability Office says there were 54,184 completed applications between May 2018 and May 2019 for the Temporary Expanded Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (TEPSLF). Out of those, 53,523 were denied and only 661 were approved.

At least he can wear earbuds. The last time I did ended up with a fungal infection, and it looks to be somewhat common to our family’s physiology because somehow my sister had the worst bacterial infection of her life after some got in beneath her ear wax and multiplied. I for one have worn only over-the-ear headphones since, so as not to introduce extra microbes to the biome.

I have two aftermarket ones, plus a splitter, because I accidentally murdered the headphone jack on my 6s and was trying to restore a wired connection for headphones rather than dealing with Bluetooth lag until I got a X or greater.
Didn’t work because the 6S lacks the driver to recognise the splitter’s effect, so I could either be wired or charge but not both.
However, I’ll also be trading it in as soon as T-Mobile ends support for my Sprint-spec 6S, and was always planning to stay iOS at that point (as well as go on my parents’ plan, which should save me 40 bucks a month).

Today is Teresa of Calcutta’s feast day, and I had to chew someone out, not once, but twice, for saying that Teresa was the epitome of sainthood and holiness. I was blunt—if Teresa is an example of Christ, I want nothing to do with that Jesus. It wasn’t merely that her houses of the dying didn’t treat people properly, it was that she glorified pain and suffering, especially the pain and suffering of the poor. (But she got the best of health care, painkillers and all, when she required it.) And she was quite willing to do sketchy things for her large donors. I remember how she wrote a letter to the judge in the Charles Keating case, asking for leniency. She had her picture taken with John-Roger Hinkins, the now-deceased leader of the MSIA cult. But just the way she glorified pain and suffering instead of relieving them in some way! It goes without saying that she was anti-divorce (except for Princess Diana) and anti-abortion.
Sorry to rant, but I don’t consider Teresa to be a saint or holy. Do work in the world, relieve pain and suffering, don’t worship it, don’t encourage it!

It’s about a woman named Jennifer Talbot, from Ohio, who was caught trying to smuggle a six-day-old baby through customs at Ninoy Aquino airport in Manila. The baby was concealed in a sling bag, and was apparently discovered AFTER she’d gone through security but before she’d actually gotten on the plane. The authorities said that she wanted to get the baby a name and a blessing and that she hadn’t regularized the baby’s travel papers because something had come up at home and she needed to get back. The baby’s parents have also been found and it looks like all three may be up on human trafficking charges.
I find this to be so bizarre. There has got to be more to this story.
