These insane Xtians just need to STFU!
According to Religion News Service (RNS), organisers of the Jericho March™ have called on “patriots, people of faith and all those who want to take back America” to participate in their monkeyshines.
Marchers intend circling the Supreme Court building seven times while blowing ritual Jewish horns called shofars, aping the Israelites’ siege of the city of Jericho described in the Bible’s Book of Joshua. That will happen on January 5. A day later they plan on repeating this stupidity at the US Capitol building.
Meanwhile insane relatives will be in DC with their guns.
Had it with these ignorant Xtians who can take those shofars and shove them up their collective asses!

IT’s because it all comes from the same poisoned well: the Republicans have so successfully demonized the ideas of expertise and professional politicians that the assumption of the opposite being the solution, that of amateurs with shallow political knowledge and even shallower expertise, has taken root. It’s all the same pathology and lionizing of straight up ignorance. Meanwhile, the actual problem of amoral and selfish politicians abusing the process and projecting, gaslighting, abuse of power, and exploitation, has become assumed of politics and politicians in general that there’s no way to actually convince people that maybe some of those career pols have the better good in mind, even when they can’t wave a goddamn magic wand and make it happen instantly.

All we can really do is document the insanity and cruelty that Christianity allows and promotes, in the event they bring about the downfall of our civilisation.
Did the wingnut Christian singer who was going to intentionally spread God’s love Covid-19 amongst the homeless in Los Angeles get blocked? There was a group of people who said they would surround him with cars to prevent him from spreading Christian love plague.
Pastor Mocked Follower’s COVID Death in Sermon: “He’s Weak… He Has No Faith” (Friendly Atheist)
Not long ago, a 71-year-old man named Les Tom died of COVID, and his funeral was held at his church: Michiana Christian Embassy in Niles, Michigan.
But earlier this month, on December 13, Lead Pastor Rev. Jeffrey Whittaker delivered a sermon in which he appeared to mock Tom for catching COVID — as well as his family members and other congregation members for taking COVID precautions during that funeral service.
(with video of the sermon in question)
There’s a reason both Christianity and the GOP go well together: They are both death cults.

My sister and I had a disagreement about a couple local candidates; in one case, it was a Democratic incumbent who had been attacked for bad decisions she had made in office; the other was a Republican incumbent who apparently is very well respected. I told my sister that I refuse to vote for a Republican for any office* as long as the party is in thrall to the Trumps and McConnells of the world (*sole exception is for judge if the Democrat is deemed unqualified by the various rating agencies). The Republican party has forfeited all legitimacy and should be considered a treasonous organization that must be purged from the body politic for our nation to survive. Unfortunately, more than 74 million Americans don’t share that view and therefore the odds of our long-term survival are not encouraging.

Trump’s NYC eateries written up for ‘live mice,’ other ‘critical’ health code violations in recent months (New York Daily News, February 17, 2019)
Mice in the kitchen, filthy food prep areas and broken sewage systems are on the list of recent stomach-turning health code violations at a number of Trump-branded restaurants in the city, the Daily News has learned.
Health inspections at Trump properties from Midtown Manhattan to the Bronx’s Ferry Point reveal the President’s eponymous company still struggles to keep its day-to-day operations clean — though similar infractions have been reported for years.
Violations at the President’s crown jewel and Manhattan residence — Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue — are perhaps the most gag-inducing.
City Department of Health inspectors visited the tower’s cafe and grill on July 11, 2018 and found “evidence of mice or live mice” in and around the kitchen, according to records that haven’t previously been reported. The inspectors categorized the violation as “critical.”

I know it’s anecdotal, but everyone I know who is from NYC or State hates Trump. Long before his presidency and campaigning. He was a known scumbag, racist, cheap as fuck and treated everyone around him like shit, it’s who he is. If we had decent media, instead of all those republicans in diners, if they had interviewed New Yorkers and what they know about him, we might not be facing Proud Boys trying to fuck up an inauguration or congressional idiots playing games with democracy.

A few months later, when the unpopular Vitellius tried to escape from Vespasian’s forces in Rome he was dragged through the streets, tortured, killed and thrown into the Tiber.

The 12th century has magnificent manuscripts: the beginning of Genesis, Exodus, 2 Kings, and Ezekiel in the ‘Montpellier Bible.

Plus, I already know how to do that, I do not need instruction should I choose to delete.
re: #119 Backwoods_Sleuth
This is what I call the mediation mentality. It’s bothsiderism. One side can’t be wronged, both have to concede something. It’s horseshit. Would a murder victim make concessions to their murderer? Would a rape victim make concessions to their rapist?
I’m tired of being sucked into their bullshit, dragged on a playing field full of literal Nazis and nuts.

Before covid: a walk between 5:30 and 6AM, coffee and breakfast at the same time, scan the paper while eating, shave and brush teeth, and out the door to my office, where while doing work also scanning LGF and a few other sites. Back at 4 or 5, another walk. Shower, eat, do some more work while scanning. Bed.
Now: Dog comes into room to jump on bed and sit on my head to apparently send a mesage, usually at the established time ante-pandemic. I struggle to make coffee as the dog says, ‘I gotta poo!’; we go for the walk, I feed her, have coffee, and then read the paper and do the crossword puzzle; then I go upstairs to lie back down for awhile and tour the internet—-the dog now comes upstairs in a Pavlovian response the sound of old box springs groaning under my weight; she curls up against me and makes butt contact. I want to stay that way all day, but alas….

No, it’s part of his tax evasion plan, if you remember from the Screw York Times series that was hitting shortly before the election. He claims a massive loss on his properties so that he can write it off as a tax break.
It would still be interesting to know if Trump received the $600 Covid relief check this time, and the $1200 check last year.

In the meantime, I’m still waiting for my $600, though my bank hasn’t officially posted my credit card payment that I put in on 1/1 so I imagine it’ll magically show up on Monday at the opening of business.
re: #90 thedopefishlives
It’s taken me some time to sort out the difference between this and a standard “OK” sign. Though I’m going to avoid using that one as much as possible, given how easily it can be confused.
I started realizing how much I used the OK sign when the white power sign started showing up. Now I feel like apologizing every time I use it as OK, and I’m trying to stop using it altogether.

I’ve never really used the okay sign but do use 👍, although Trump has ruined that one with his short-fingered thumps up.

A good friend of mine is opening a bar in town here…next FUCKING week.
Now, of course I’m in a red state where the governor has vowed there will never be another lockdown and there is no enforcing of any punishment for people who fail to follow Covid guidelines.
I tried to convince him to push his opening date back to at least the spring but he wasn’t having it.
