I think he eventually did come out with the free case offer, after taking the massive PR hit for weeks.

I dont think it took them that long to offer the free case. I remember it all happening in a week or two, but I’m not too motivated to check right now.

You have to admit, they did do the right thing, even if it took some, uh, coaxing.
