Yeah, that’s a great comparison, to Peiper.. Both of them really knew how to use and exploit mobility, too. Very good comparison— it’s odd when you find generals that seem to echo each other like that.

And yeah, Sherman was beyond vicious. He didn’t care about inflicting pain, he just cared about breaking the spirit. I often thought Ender in Ender’s game was kind of Sherman-esque; in many ways, Sherman took war to the next logical conclusion.
