This has occurred to me too, that the Miranda incident may have been set up from the start to make a splash in the media. At the height of the controversy, when you know Western intel services are going to be watching everything you do, you send a newbie to carry secret documents through one of the most-watched airports in the world?

Seems like a crazy idea … unless you intend for him to get caught, so you can exploit the resulting media coverage and paint Miranda and Greenwald as victims.
