Well, not exactly Romney, but Romney-founded Bain Capital, which is buying Manischewitz and adding it to its corporate stable.

Why?

Well, they must think that the kosher food designation will be a selling point for people who are health food conscious, or think that the kosher designation imparts some safety/health benefit.

Because it’s not necessarily a growth sector as those identifying as Jews and keeping kosher is a very limited market at best.

For kosher consumers, the Maneschewitz brand is really lame. It’s like the brand you buy because you’re stuck out of town in some place where no Juice live.
