Once we unraveled the genome, we have basically set ourselves up as the new God. We can build, repair, whatever we want on a genetic level. That means no more cancer or birth defects or other ailments that have cursed us since time began. But, it will also mean children in the future will get an artificial boost in evolution. We will be able to create taller, leaner, smarter, healthier, “better” children with our new found technology. That scares the hell out of me, it sounds like a sci fi movie, but it’s what is coming if we like it or not.

As it should. Bush had a bioethics council, did he not? Has that been retained by Obama? Does anyone know? I’m going to Google it and see if I can find out….
