But Reine, ‘wingnut’ doesn’t actually describe a real political philosophy that anyone would voluntarily belong to. That’s my point. “Prog” does. It refers to progressives, who really are a self-identifying and real subset, in the same way ‘neo-cons’ were.

But ‘prog’, since it describes something that actually exists in a valid fashion, isn’t remotely the same as wingnut or moonbat.
