I’ve noticed a trend on both right and left blogs. When the guy from the other side makes a statement, the majority on the other side starts slamming each and every part of it. One comment feeds on another, and with all the like minded opinions, a since of the rightness of you opinion sets in.

What Cato did was, at it’s core, no different from Mos Def when he said ‘I don’t have to believe CNN just cuz they said it.’

Cato is more articulate than Mos Def and not an idiot, but he essentially made a one dimensional point as an argument. Then to double down, went condescending. The results of that dialog were because of what he said and how he said it, not the standard lefty/righty blog dynamic.
