A 5 minute video --what does it mean when I don't have the brain cells to watch a 5 minute video at 7pm at night?
Hey all!
2 | Dark_Falcon Thu, Jan 7, 2010 5:19:35pm |
And right now we were just treated to Bill O'Reilly defending Janet Napolitano against Ralph Peters saying she should be fired. And he was right about laying the blame on Napolitano not being fair.

It means you've been slogging through the snow for hours. Just like anyone out and about here in Chicagoland today. Far West Suburbs or Near North Suburbs makes no difference.

I wondered why I was the only one that posted for a good while, then I realized, everyone else was watching the 5-minute video.
ugh!

Its a good video tho', really well put-together.
If I had a quibble, its that the message is actually a bit stale at this point >>

Since Patterico put up a big post today claiming that I "failed to correct a false statement about Glenn Reynolds" (even though I didn't even know about the Instapundit update that Patterico is linking to), I wonder how long I should wait before pointing out that I updated my post about Reynolds as soon as I learned about his update?
And I learned about his update because he Twittered "Charles Johnson owes me a correction" to the universe, without bothering to contact me about it first.
This kind of crap is really irritating. These people are playing gotcha and smearing me all over the web without even bothering to follow up.

Such a shame about Instapundit. I really enjoyed his podcasts with Mrs. Instapundit --but they were mostly book reviews/author interviews. I tend to like those.
Too bad about the whole PJmedia thing. Very disappointing.

Don't let it get to you. Haters like Glen Reynolds won't admit they're wrong, because that would mean giving up their hate and they validate themselves by hating you, pathetic though that is.

It really isn't too bad in the Very Far Western Suburbs. Was worse before Christmas. But the temp hasn't gone down yet --there will be ice.

Okay finally got it to work, nice video but I have a question, if stop sign guy seems to be depressed by his job because he can't dance whenever he wants to, why exactly is he so upset and so put out when he gets fired?
I mean I obviously there are plenty of us who have jobs we hate but want to keep because of the pay, but light guy evidently getting paid for his work or need food, so why is he so put out about not suddenly having red lights intrude on him every so often?

Dude. He wasn't just fired. He was picked up by a crane, tossed into a garbage truck, and dumped into a landfill. Just for making people happy.
I'd be pissed too.

Yeah, especially when you're a democrat, and boy does my part give me a lot of good chances to pick holes with it...
Come to think of it shouldn't it be especially when you're a republican also since after all (in my opinion) the best thing a conservative can do is to try and find all the problems that might come up with any new idea so that the best aspects of it can then still be put into action with the bad ideas stripped away...
Which is probably why its the human condition in a nut shell....

There's no winning with people who are intellectually dishonest. People who are interested can see the facts, what he posted about that racist picture and what you said and hopefully they'll come to the conclusion that you're right. Instapundit has demonstrated what type of person he is with his blind support of tea parties and all of the promotion he's given to that movement.

Instapundit is still in a snit. I notice that his final update to the post in question was on Monday when he finally declared to the picture to be racist 4 days after his original post defending. I suspect his university was getting some calls about it and told him to back peddle. He got busted and wants to deflect by blaming Charles.

Reynolds says:
I said that I thought the pic was racist, but was trying to be fair to the Democrat who sent it around when someone (Tom Maguire, hardly some white supremacist) suggested things might be otherwise.
I still maintain that the italicized part is a bs attempt to hang blame on a Democrat while ignoring the bad behavior on the other side.

In other news,
Four hundred years ago tonight, a man from Pisa, Italy took a newly-made telescope with a magnifying power of 33X, pointed it at one of the brighter lights in the sky, and changed mankind forever. The man, of course, was Galileo, and the light he observed on January 7, 1610 was Jupiter. He spotted "three fixed stars" that were invisible to the eye near the planet, and a fourth a few days later.
Here is how he drew this, 400 years ago:

And, being registered to vote as a Dem does not make one a left-wing Dem. The person may very well be a DINO (DEM in name only).

Yes, the sleaze factor is very noticeable. And Reynolds never acknowledges that the picture originated at right wing sites, either.

Exactly right. I was registered as a Democrat when I voted for George W. Bush in 2004. Party registration tells you very little about a person's actual opinions.

Asif goes on: "Nah, John, I'm ****ing with you, of course it's Islam. No other religion offers a manageable five-pillar plan for salvation. However, given Tiger's lifestyle, the fact that he frequently needs to carry luggage and bags on airplanes, I'm actually gonna suggest he hold off for the moment."
More wives just means more women to cheat on--of course, it also means more women mad as hell at you when they find out...

Hi all. Excellent video. Actually I read it as a "hang out and don't let the man tell you what to do" kinda thing. He was unhappy having to follow the rules and stand in one strict pose. He wanted the unadulterated joy of dance and he wanted to share his dance with the world. He felt constrained to follow the rules as did the people in the crosswalk, following a strict line, waiting for the light. Then he is inspired and a bit envious of the dancing lady on the billboard. He realizes he doesn't have to stand still. He rebels. For his rebellion he is punished, "arrested" and sent away as a dissident/defective. Then one person he inspired takes the power into his own hands. He and the others share the joy of the unconstrained dance.
Or maybe its just a cute video. Thanks for something I could share with the kid.
