10 Commandments (and Sharia) safe in OK…for now
A federal judge in Oklahoma has issued an order putting on hold the certification of a ballot measure that forbids state courts from considering or using international laws, as well as Sharia, or Islamic law. That permanent injunction will allow the judge more time to consider the constitutional issues raised by State Question 755, which was approved by voters earlier this month.
Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange had earlier issued a temporary restraining order in favor of the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which had sued to nullify the law completely.
Obviously an activist judge looking to undermine the will of the people.

Yeah, it’s hard to deny that’s exactly what happened. He did, however, actually set, arm, and walk away from what he thought was a devastating bomb, however.
There is a possible argument to be made regarding entrapment. It depends how much the government did for him, and how much he did on his own. Was he coerced talked into doing this, or was her really a man with a motive seeking the means?
There have been cases in the past that fit that description, though I have no idea or suspicion that this is one of them.

Iran’s supreme leader dying of cancer: WikiLeaks
Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has terminal cancer and could be dead “within months,” according to a US document released by WikiLeaks and published by Britain’s Telegraph newspaper today.
The memo, sent from the US consulate in Istanbul, quotes a businessman with close links to former Iranian president Hashemi Rafsanjani as saying that Ayatollah Khamenei had been diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia.
“Khamenei is likely to die within a matter of months,” the August 2009 memo, revealed by the whistle-blowing website, said.
“As a result, Rafsanjani has stopped campaigning within the Assembly of Experts to challenge Khamenei, and now is focused on ‘letting nature take its course’,” it said.

China ‘scared to death’ of Pelosi
China was “scared to death” over a visit by US speaker Nancy Pelosi, who is outspoken on human rights, and rejected her request to visit to Tibet, according to files leaked today.
A top diplomat at the US embassy in Beijing said he asked China to consider letting Ms Pelosi go to Tibet during her May 2009 visit to China, according to a cable obtained by whistleblower site WikiLeaks.
Vice foreign minister He Yafei responded that China could not arrange the trip due to Ms Pelosi’s “tight schedule,” according to the cable reprinted by Britain’s Guardian newspaper.
The Chinese ambassador in Kazakhstan was blunter, telling his US counterpart over an expansive dinner that Beijing was “fearful” over Ms Pelosi’s visit.

What are you documenting?
Reason I ask: With someone like this, you can’t just document problems with his work product. It’s unlikely to be sufficient to do anything.
You will need to document behavioral issues, which is difficult to do - be sure to include the negative effects behavior is having on the morale/productivity of the work team as a whole as a result of his behavior. And keep it to observable facts … don’t assume a motive or reason, just the facts of the actual behavior.
(sheesh - I did this for 30 years, I could do it in my sleep)

Something else to contemplate:
The existence of anonymous leak sites is neither new nor unique to wikileaks. In the balance, I think them to be necessary, and, done right, beneficial to society. I believe in the power of sunlight as a disinfectant, and the internet facilitates both the judiciuos and the foolish dissemination of information.
Assange, et. al., is the back side of that double edge. My point is that the focus should be on securing information properly, and prosecuting those who leak. Assange might be a colossal asshole, but that doesn’t mean that there can’t be anything good to come from Wikileaks or similar sites such as Opensecrets, etc.
Regardless, I don’t think this last huge leak of DoS documents being in the public eye is a good thing. But then, here I am reading them and learning from them.

I agree it would be bad for the blog overall, yet I am fascinated by the psychology underlying that kind of delusional personality disorder. I feel like I need to understand it better, because we are going to be dealing with a lot more of that kind of thinking in the coming years.

So I’m in a holding pattern, waiting a cramped Kowloon apartment for headhunters to get back to me. If nothing happens, my suit and portfolio will travel back to New York sadly unused. The only asured work so far is that I get to spend the weekend in Surabaya, surveying and designing a small hostel for a client. Which has already driven my wife into a jeluous fit.

Bad idea. That’ll damage the economy all the more. And it’ll force me to defend said CEOs, since I would never take the side of a liberal Democratic administration over that of the banks.

I know this is your website and all and I’m just a freshly-hatched newcomer, but that may not be who you think it is. From personal experience, at another blog, the administrator looked up my name via public voting records and then made all kinds of assumptions based upon my age, residence, etc… or at least characteristics that they thought were mine.
There was another person with my exact same name living in a nearby community, and they made the wrong assumption.
