Pamela Geller’s Desperate Spin Somehow Misses Mosque Attack Suspect’s Anti-Muslim Statements

If she had a conscience, it would be guilty
Wingnuts • Views: 31,478

Hate group leader Pamela Geller is desperately trying to spin the firebomb attacks against a mosque in Queens, New York, and several other locations; her absurd rationalizations reveal someone who’s deeply afraid of the consequences of the hate speech she relentlessly spouts: NY ARSONIST APPREHENDED: TARGETED PLACES THAT PISSED HIM OFF!!!!! - Atlas Shrugs.

And who does she pick to smear in her latest bizarre rant? Yours truly, of course.

Despite the media and the Islamic supremacist liars (ie CAIR) focusing on a mosque firebombed in Queens, while ignoring the multi-pronged firebombing against Hindus, Christians, Homes and a deli , the perp tells a vastly different story.

An unemployed tow truck driver confessed to a series of Molotov cocktail attacks because of personal grudges (sounds like one of Chuckie Johnson’s friends.) The suspect firebombed the deli because the clerk at there [sic] caught him stealing a Starbucks Frappuccino earlier that day and confronted the perp. “When they were pushing him out of the store, he said words to the effect of, ‘We’re going to get even. We’re going to get back at you,’” Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said before the confession was reported. Starbucks Frappuccino bottles were used in at least four of the five Molotov attacks, police said.

The suspect said he chose the mosque after being refused access to the facility’s bathroom. They didn’t let him use the john, how very… un-Christian-like. And he mistook one of the private residences as the home of a “crack dealer” with whom he had a dispute, the official said.

Another of the targets was a private residence where Hindu services were held, but that may have been a coincidence. The suspect had a years-old dispute with someone who may not live there anymore.

So the media mosque meme was patently untrue and that schmuck Bloomberg looks the fool yet again after holding press conferences against “hate crime” before he knew what, who and why.

Oddly enough, in her rush to absolve herself of blame, Geller seems to have missed this Associated Press story in which it becomes clear that the alleged attacker was indeed one of her fellow anti-Muslim travelers:

The law enforcement official, speaking to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the case was still being investigated, said the man made broad anti-Muslim statements and could be charged with a hate crime in the Islamic center attack.

Someone looks like a fool, all right, but it’s not Mayor Bloomberg.

Note that Geller’s first reaction after the attacks was to say that Muslims firebombed their own mosque. She hasn’t retracted that disgusting smear, of course; she just moves on to the next one.

Wait, what? What does she mean by "one of Chuckie Johnson's friends."

Exactly how many lizards have tossed Molotov cocktails at places that pissed them off, or suggested doing so (and weren't immediately banhammered by Stinky)

OTOH, Breivik was inspired by Pammy.

Ray Lazier Lengend, a 40-year-old of Guyanese descent, hurled crude firebombs at the Islamic center in part because he wasn't allowed to use its bathrooms, a law enforcement official said.

He was pissed because they wouldn't let him piss.

What, exactly, is she trying to prove at this point? Is she just trying to distract from the earlier nonsense she said about this with additional nonsense now?

re: #3 Simply Sarah

Yes. She blamed the victims, because they were Muslim, and the obviousness of that bigotry is making her spazz out. She can't see the obvious truth: she accused them of firebombing themselves solely because they're Muslim, on no other grounds, which makes her a bigot, so she instead attempts to claim that the guy who did this is also not a bigot.

It's a crazy person thing.

Fair enough, I suppose that makes 'sense' in some sort of twisted, nonsensical way.

Let's see - if we're going to tar and feather based on associations, none of Charles' friends have taken to rioting in the streets of the UK or beaten up people because they're racists like the VB or EDL that Pam has chosen to associate with despite Charles pointing out the obvious racist and violent backgrounds of both groups.

Point to Charles.

Some of those who have commented at Pam's site continue to advocate violence, and she supports restoring the Wordpress site that called for violence against Muslims and whose commenters were also advocating violence - a clear violation of the Wordpress TOS.

Point to Charles.

Charles deletes and kills accounts of those who advocate violence; Pamela ignores such statements on her site.

Two more points to Charles.

As to the substance of the crimes - the alleged firebomber had grievances with those who he targeted, and he repeatedly made anti-Muslim statements, which is why he's being charged with arson as a hate crime, and 4 other arson charges. Anti-Muslim statements are a staple on Pam's site, painting the entire Muslim community with a broad smearing brush, while Charles has focused on the extremists who justify their terrorism via Islam. (Again point to Charles).

She not so subtly digs at the mosque for not letting him access the restroom in the mosque ("hey didn’t let him use the john, how very… un-Christian-like), but how often do churches or synagogues allow someone to just walk in off the street to use the facilities when they don't know who or what that person is doing.

No, this guy had problems, and was prone to violence - as his criminal record indicates.

. The mosque attack was a targeted hate crime.

'The suspect told police he was angry that he had been denied entry into the mosque to use the bathroom in the past but also made 'sweeping anti-Muslim statements,' the official said. Mr. Lengend said he had intended to use all five homemade incendiary devices at the mosque, the official said.'

In some areas, particularly urban areas, bathrooms are for the use of customers/congregants/employees only.

re: #16 Tumulus11

Not just the WSJ reported those details. Apparently he saw that there was a police presence at the mosque (and with good reason), and shifted targets, and came back with one of the firebombs.

Oh, and the attacker may have mental health issues and/or substance abuse as well (reports indicate he was taken away by ambulance) and while he made incriminating statements, he might not have made a confession despite what some earlier reports suggested.

Lengend — who has several prior arrests for crack possession and larceny — filled a Starbucks bottle with an accelerant before lighting it and tossing it at the bodega about 8 p.m. on Sunday, sources said.

He then cruised over to 107th Ave. to set fire to a crack dealer’s house, but he torched the wrong address, sources said.

At 8:44 p.m., the suspect hurled two of his homemade firebombs at the Imam Al-Khoei Islamic Center on the Van Wyck Expressway, cops said.

During his confession, Lengend said he targeted the mosque because it refused let him use the bathroom in the past. He also said he had intended to throw three more Molotov cocktails at the mosque before he drove away but didn’t carry out his plan, an official said.

Lengend then took a trip to Elmont, where he threw a bottle bomb at an in-law’s house, sources said. His spree ended at 10:14 p.m., when he tossed a Molotov cocktail at a 170th St. home that doubles as a Hindu place of worship.

Huckabee: Rs more interested in defeating Obama than in rebuilding USA

Huckabee: “I don’t intend to endorse anyone before the Florida primary and perhaps not even after, until we settle on a nominee because I want to maintain a level of objectivity. Quite frankly, Kay if I walked in the booth today I’m not sure who I’d pull the lever for. Nobody has so persuaded me that I’m ready to get a yard sign and put out in my yard, so I’m watching and waiting to see, you know, which of these candidates come forth with what I would consider a broad and balanced message and that shows the capacity to lead and not just campaign.

“One of the reasons that I was so frustrated and decided not to get in the race was because it appears to me, and it still does to a large degree, that many of the Republicans are more interested in just defeating Barack Obama than they are in rebuilding America. Well, defeating somebody without a plan to really resolve problems, to me, is a worthless endeavor. You know, I want to see us really focus on how to get the country back to work. We’ve got 15, 16 million people that don’t have jobs that would like to have them. Let’s talk about that, not: ’Let’s spend our time talking about what’s wrong with one of the candidates we’re trying to defeat,’ and that’s unfortunately been the focus of this primary.”

Ouch.

Unintended moment of clarity on Huckabee's part. The GOP is all about defeating Obama to regain power, but don't have a plan beyond that. They didn't have an economic plan to speak of, and their economic/political and social policy is to block anything the Administration tries - because they oppose everything this Administration does even if the Administration is suggesting policies that the GOP themselves had suggested years back.

The GOP as a party of obstructionists might gain them votes, but it wont solve problems.

And TPM retorts.

After today’s appointment, President Obama will have made a total of 29 recess appointments. By comparison, George W. Bush made 171 recess appointments; Bill Clinton made 139 recess appointments; George H.W. Bush made 77 recess appointments; and Ronald Reagan made 243. When you divide these numbers by the number of years each man spent in the White House, it reveals that Obama is far and away the least likely president to invoke this power:

Obama'a Unprecedented Appointment of New Government Czar

Does she ever proof read before hitting post?

Not a czar of course. That department was a creation from the Dodd-Frank legislation or HR 4173. This was the final senate vote before being sent to the president for signing. Republicans Brown, Collins and Snowe voted yea and the rest of the Republican voted no.

Yep.
It's legally required that we have it.

And by obstructing it, the GOP are obstructing the proper functioning of government. Not something that hasn't been settled already, but something that has.

If they want to mount some constitutional challenge to the office, they can go ahead.

Otherwise it's a law that was passed by the legislature and for that legislature to then block the Executive from enacting it is balls-to-the-floor stupid.

Well of course not. Excessive drinking causes periodic blackouts. She simply doesn't remember making the post in the first place.

When these people endorse a candidate, why do they have to:

A. Put out an announcement that they are going to endorse.
B. Hold a press conference endorsing.

Why can't they accomplish what they are going to do with B with A? Is it so they can get some good camera time with the candidate? Is it so that if they don't get sufficient praise from the candidate they can change their mind?

re: #78 mracb

Part of that (Obama's lack of recess appointments) is also the result of Congress remaining in session so as to thwart a recess appointment. You can't have a recess appointment if Congress isn't in recess.

It's not for lack of trying...

A law? You mean through the democratic selection of elected representatives both as stipulated by the US Constitution? No way that can't be. The GOP can just raise their magic sword and stop all of this democratic process stuff!

I swear sometimes they remind me of the military leadership in Argentina during the 1980s. Republicans are so Latin American-military junta-like in their style.

They're politicians. They want their last kick at being the focus of attention.

Army soldier rallying for Paul violated military ban on political activity

(CNN) – Ron Paul spent Tuesday heralding his support among members of the military, but one active-duty supporter may be in trouble after lauding Paul on stage while wearing his Army uniform.

Army Cpl. Jesse Thorsen spoke during Paul's speech at his headquarters in Ankeny, Iowa, Tuesday night. Paul invited Thorsen to speak on stage after a technical glitch cut short an earlier live interview on CNN.

Occupy Wall Street Protester Charged With Felony For Allegedly Cutting Cop With Scissors

An Occupy Wall Street protester is out on bail after allegedly cutting a cop with scissors during a skirmish with police at Zuccotti Park on New Year's Eve. Zachary Miller, 28, has been charged with felony assault, weapons possession, obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest; he was released yesterday on $500 bail. According to prosecutors, Miller, a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, slashed Officer Christopher Vega's hand after Vega tried to stop him from shoving a barricade into a marked police van.

A copy of the complaint obtained by the Post says that Vega was in "substantial pain" after the incident. (He was treated and released.) The officer also bruised both knees and suffered a back injury. The Daily News reports that Miller has been arrested in protests in California twice prior, but a source tells the Post that Miller has had two Zuccotti-related disorderly conduct arrests in October and November, "plus a record of narcotics, parole violation and burglary arrests in California."

Yeah, exactly, this is fundamentally different than an objection to the nominee. The Republicans would filibuster any appointee to this position, even one nominated by a Republican President. They object the the Bureau itself, they're ideologically allergic to oversight and are demanding a second bite at the regulatory apple, from a minority position. Filibustering the confirmation process with the sole aim of holding already passed legislation hostage is a huge abuse of power.

Ouch.

If I were Romney, I would try to get Huck for my VP. He's southern, fundy, likeable and, unlike a lot of Republicans, he actually seems to care about ordinary people.

Nope. Article 15 Non-Judicial Punishment.
Reduction in grade by one, forfeiture of one month's pay and allowances, one month of extra duty.

That will teach him his lesson while allowing the military to keep a trained soldier.

re: #3 Simply Sarah

What, exactly, is she trying to prove at this point? Is she just trying to distract from the earlier nonsense she said about this with additional nonsense now?

Yes. Facts don't change beliefs, beliefs change facts in Gellerworld. She's now focusing in on her repeated insistence that the press coverage was too sympathetic to the Muslim victims.

Also, I find it interesting that not letting someone use the bathroom is 'not very Christian', but firebombing their mosque...hmmm. This also seems 'not very Christian' to me, but what do I know?

(Actually, I think that could be in textbook under 'extremely disproportionate reaction'.)

102 SanFranciscoZionist  Wed, Jan 4, 2012 1:18:51pm

re: #18 EmmmieG

What was the issue with the bathrooms? Are they simply not available to the public?

Most synagogues won't just randomly let people in off the street. For good reason. I suspect that many mosques in the States have similar rules for similar reason.

Charles Johnson,

It maybe that she doesn't care about the truth actually, otherwise, like other things she'd have to bring his statements into account.
