The story is now posted at CNN: First on CNN: Authorities Believe They Have Identified a Suspect, Source Says.

(CNN) — Investigators believe they have identified a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, a source who has been briefed on the investigation told CNN’s John King exclusively.

The breakthrough came from analysis of video from a department store near the site of the second explosion. Video from a Boston television station also contributed to the progress, said the source, who declined to be more specific but called it a significant development.

I didn’t think this would take long. The Boston Marathon finish line was probably the most heavily imaged place in the world at the time of the explosions. It was just a matter of sorting through the massive amount of video available.

Georgia teen who shot parents wanted to read Bible, not do chores

Investigators in Columbus, Georgia say that a 15-year-old boy shot his parents because they asked him to do chores when he wanted to look up a Bible verse for a friend who wanted to be “saved.”

In a court hearing on Monday, Detective Amanda Hogan explained that the teen felt he had a mission to find the correct Bible verse for his friend on Thursday. But his parents insisted that he first complete his chores, which included getting an old comforter packed up so that it could be donated to Goodwill, according to the Ledger-Enquirer.

Hogan said that the boy’s rage grew overnight, and when he came home from school on Friday, he took a 9mm handgun from his parents nightstand and hid it in his room. After his parents returned from work, their son opened fire. Stepmother Kristi Askevich, 45, was hit in the right wrist. Randal Askevich, the boy’s 40-year-old father, was shot in the right hip.

Yeah, that is part of a series of images from 4chan here. I would take with a huge grain of salt basically anyone with a big black backpack was noted. Someone has a post bomb picture that shows one of the 4chan “suspects” after the bombing, injured and still holding his backpack.

Megan Kelly is reporting that the arrest is being made by the US Marshals and will be taken directly to the courthouse.
Doesn’t that sound strange that they wouldn’t first take him to a FBI or police station and be interrogated first?

Probably taking him to the closest, most secure location they can get to.

Study: Belief in an angry God associated with variety of mental illnesses

People who believe in an angry, punishing God are much more likely to suffer from a variety of mental illnesses, a scientific study published in the April edition of Journal of Religion & Health finds.

The study, conducted by Marymount Manhattan College Assistant Psychology Professor Nava Silton, used data from the 2010 Baylor Religion Survey of US Adults to examine the links between beliefs and anxiety disorders like social dysfunction, paranoia, obsession and compulsion.

To do this, Silton viewed the data through the lens of what’s called Evolutionary Threat Assessment System Theory, which posits that parts of the brain specifically evolved to detect threats, and suggests that many anxiety disorders may be a result of dysfunction in the brain’s perception of those threats.

I read a book a while back about a Mental Unit in St. Louis that actually dealt with this stuff. Even tho Psych doctors and therapists don’t like to bring in the G-d subject, they found they had to to help patients deal with their Angry G-d issues. A lot of religious abuse is not recognized or treated by traditional medicine.
